0803 GPS Question

I recently received my Mini 0803 purchased from FoxOffer
I was wondering if there was a way to show the GPS info, Specifically the MPH, as an overlay on the video.
I am running the 20140510V1 firmware but I do not see a way to accomplish this.
Anyone know if it is possible to overlay the GPS MPH data over the video

The Mini 0803 setting to show GPS data recording directly on the footage is currently missing. Hopefully this will be resolved in a later FW update.

...20140510 - It works, but inserting of GPS tag into video is missing in menu.

In the meantime you can use the GPS data that's still being recorded, when reviewing your footage, as has been discussed on these posts:-

You saw a 0803 footage with an earlier firmware.
Try http://www.registratorviewer.com/download_en.html
You will see in real time your position on Google Map and speed.

or if you're an Apple User there's Datakam Player for Mac:-

Just download the video files you want to see and it'll import the GPS data and overlay it on Google Maps, whilst playing your footage.

Using Registrator Viewer you can create a subtitle file with the speed and GPS data to overlay onto the video afterward

The Registrator viewer is very nice to compile the videos and watch them alongside a moving map display

Hopefully they can add a GPS Speed overlay in a future FW

I don't know if anyone knows the answer but using mini 0803 with the same 20140501V1 firmware as Tim. First day with GPS mount and new Firmware. GPS is on and GPS log files are being created, but appears to be no GPS fix. The log files align to the .mov files and I have 3 minute intervals. The lines within the log look like this

I've tried converting into .GPX using Dashcam Viewer on Mac but no joy. How long do the units normally take to acquire their first GPS fix?

Any help most appreciated.

For info, a 20 minute drive, sorted the issue and GPS lock acquired and working well.

I read a thread elsewhere on here that's convinced me that embedded gps on the video is a bad idea:
