70mai 4K Omni Dash Camera review, bringing the fun back to the road!

More thoughts and deep-dives into specific features of the 70mai 4K Omni are located here in my unboxing thread:

Getting mine shortly
Won't work in my (British) car either, it is front wheel drive, so if you are accelerating, the front should lift, however hard you are pressing the brakes.

You can however put your foot very lightly on the brake pedal and light the brake lights, without causing any significant braking.

In some cars you can put the parking brake on at the same time, and the rear will dip down. That does tend to make people back off because they can't understand!

My eco box is so eco it won't dip even if I floor it.

There has been some more updates to the 70mai APP in the Google Play Store:

- Support for new device T800
- Add auto-marking for viewed and downloaded files
- Add Malaysian regulatory information for certain devices
- Fix Master watermark time format error
- Fix some English and Arabic translation issues
- Fix other known issues

There has been a firmware update released for the 4K Omni, taking it from version 1.2.96ww to 1.3.99ww.

Changelog:
- optimise the collision sensitivity of parking mode
- optimise occasional video upload failures over 4G kit

Hi @Augustus ,
How would you recommend the 70mai 4K omni compared to the Viofo a229 pro?
I have a local installer so was just going to go the Viofo. But now researching was thinking of the 70mai simply for the sentinel feature. Any advice ?

The A229 Pro had some heat issues in the hot Aussie heat, but it turns off completely rather than the newer models which don't. I have mine paired with the Telephoto rtc300 which is a killer combo.

Tbh, Viofo always has the best video quality hands down but the 70mai has the sentinel and cloud functionality for real time alerts, which is why it stays in my vehicle. If you care about getting real time alerts, then go the 70mai. Otherwise a229 pro is plenty enough. Hope this helps mate.

Thanks for the info! I think I'll wait for the new Viofos to be released and then compare

It's a nice little party trick to have, and it does update reasonably fast.
It's fast, easy and reliable to update.
Haven't had any issues updating it.

Revised changelog for the new 1.4.107ww firmware update, also includes the following new changes in addition to the changes already mentioned above:

- added time format information to the master watermark
- fixed the problem of audio and video being out of sync as reported by bloggers
- adjusted the Arabic translation of 70mai_font_car_start
- fixed the problem of too large deviation between the front and rear roads and insufficient audio frames when setting 55Hz, as reported by Japanese users
