70mai 4K Omni (unboxing & first impressions) (Sony Starvis 2 IMX678/IMX662, Wi-Fi 6/GPS, Novatek NT98530, 4K60 front + 1080p rear, HDR both channels)

A change I've noticed with the latest 70mai app release is the addition of a 'Data Service' option to the settings for the 4K Omni.

This in effect provides a shortcut for a more seamless setup with data SIMs that are compatible with the 4K Omni (see screenshots below). As of yet, there hasn't been a list provided of what network operators have chosen this method to onboard users to the 4K Omni.

We will soon include a free 70mai SIM card in the global 4G kit. Once inserted into the module, the APN will be automatically configured for Internet access, eliminating the problem of SIM card configuration failure.

Very nice, this is a pretty good way of fixing the issue. I personally never encountered any issues with my third party SIM, but have read reports of others so this is a good measure.

Six-Month Follow-up of the 70mai 4K Omni Dash Camera

After spending extended time with the 70mai 4K Omni Dash Camera, it's time to collect my thoughts. This camera remains a daily driver in my vehicle, due to its motion tracking capabilities (otherwise the 70mai T800 would have taken it's place).

In that time, it's performed admirably and i especially appreciate the 4G surveillance I'm able to utilise with this model, paired with the 70mai dashcam battery. After a few bugs at the start, it has turned into a refined and mature product. The only hiccup I've encountered in recent times is an ability to connect to the dashcam remotely, but after some troubleshooting I've since discovered it was due to an issue with my network operator - should I try WiFi or another SIM card, it works fluently.
