70mai 4K Omni (unboxing & first impressions) (Sony Starvis 2 IMX678/IMX662, Wi-Fi 6/GPS, Novatek NT98530, 4K60 front + 1080p rear, HDR both channels)

I've tried connecting RC14 to A810 without any success, screen fuzzed lines with no image. presume not compatible , maybe codec difference due to chip?
It seems there are two versions of RC14. The earlier review version worked with A510/A810. But the final version came with X800 doesn't work with earlier dashcams anymore. Just a guess - cannot verify it.

Can you show the box and details behind it that by hiding the serial number?
So that we can verify.

3/9 The global version officially goes on sale.
Current firmware is up to 1.1.88ww, released 2/17, which is the latest version.
I'm trying to find out where to get the firmware bin file. If anyone knows, please share the information.

The firmware OTA is downloaded to the phone. Then you need to modify it a bit to get the bin file.

I have updated to iPhone. can you tell me how to import the bin file you are talking about?

You can push the firmware to the cam when it's connected to the app.
I am not familiar with iPhone and don't know how to pull the firmware file in the IOS environment. If for some reason you want the bin file, please send me a direct message and I will send you.

There has been a day-one firmware update released for the 4K Omni, taking it from version 1.0.78ww to 1.1.88ww.

Changelog:
- Optimised the occasional failure to boot issue
- Optimised imaging performance
- Addressed occasional gimbal positioning errors
- Fixed other known issues

Looks like a sizeable day one update - was totally expecting it as public release date was only the last week or so. Hopefully continues to get better with time.

Hey Augustus, do you mind doing a time and work sacrifice sharing with us the power consumption in every parking mode and also combined modes?

Single:
1. Timelapse
2. Collision
3. Motion

Combined:
1. All modes activated
2. Timelapse + Collision
3. Timelapse + Motion
4. Collision + Motion

I'm asking this to compare the powerconsumption with the previous Omni and other 70mai dashcams, because Omni 4k has a 12nm processor vs 28nm processor found in the A810. Thanks for all the info provided

I have power consumption data for the "single" sentinel [parking] modes in this post:

Does anyone know if the 70mai omni 4k dash-cam installed with the 4G Hardwire Kit UP04 can act as a hotspot, to browse the internet in the car?
I see that there is a option to turn on and off the hotspot - but what does that mean?

No, there isn't Internet hotspot feature with the 4G kit. The hotspot option you see is the wifi on/off for connecting your phone with the cam.

No the internet part is wired, and wifi you can see is just the cameras wifi for direct connection to the camera.
I sort of prefer this way VS having yet another radio blaring in the car, here i am thinking of my phone, which of course generally have wifi and BT turned off CUZ why would i want those on all the time, but the 4G radio in the phone are always on and that’s plenty for me.

A mobile hot spot ( i feel ) should also have a external antenna CUZ otherwise its pretty much just a phone in hot spot mode thrown somewhere in the car, with the limitations that put on access / reach to network antennas.
