i have 3K security cameras that have a resolution of 2880 by 1620 pixels, so it may be in that ballpark for 70mai's dashcam here, or it may not, don't quote me on that.

I think the 3K resolution is ideally 3072 x 1728. Not as good as 4K, but it is cheaper, takes up less SD space, and delivers a pretty good image. I have no idea how up-scalable
it is.

Absolutely this. I would prefer 4K, but for now it's a stop gap. I'm stuck where I am cos I'm locked into one particular ecosystem for my security cameras , ideally I'd prefer not to be ...

Pretty cool to see the redesign come too, functionally it's the same but a much cleaner layout.
