- More than my wife thinks I need.
Something I posted in the 'Pics That Make You Smile' thread got me to thinking (dangerous, I know) about how much technology has changed in the last 10 to 15 years.
In December 2001 a 1GB IBM Microdrive (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microdrive) had a retail price of $360*. At the time it was half the price of CF memory cards which sold for $130 for 256MB - or $520 per 1GB (if a 1GB version would even have been available).
Scaling the CF size up to 128GB would result in a price tag of $66,560. This is in 2001 dollars - moving forward to 2017 and adjusting for inflation a 128GB memory card would cost $90,202.
Moral of this story (if there is one)? Memory is cheap now - just buy it.
* - All prices are US dollars
