Yes I realize it's a very old camera. But for the sake of using it in a a beater backup truck can it be fixed or salvaged.

When the camera turns on it boots up, switches to the main menu and then turns off. The loop continues until I take power away from it.

Is it toast?

Try without a card inserted.

Open it up and inspect the capacitors.
