A229 Rear cam cable difficult to insert/remove from main unit

When I leave my car, I like to unhook my A229's main unit, and take it with me to prevent theft. Doing so requires me to disconnect the cable to the rear camera. It is an extremely tight fit and hard to pull out of the socket. Does anyone have any tips to make it easier? Maybe I can lube up the connector with something that is safe for electronics?

It is better to not remove the rear cam cable frequently, it may damage the socket or make the connection loosen.
