finally got it to work on my imac.. Don't be like me, follow the directions.. I didn't and spend 2 days trying to get the new software to work.

But you have to get a windows computer to un zip the file. then open the .exe pgm and follow the directions formatting the sd card. then take the sd card and put it in your 500 camera. let it do its thing and
it works. on the formatted card is the software for the imac.. just place it on the desktop and lo and behold it works

The viewer for Mac is also downloadable from the Blackvue site

Read the other 1.008 update thread. 1.008 seems to have massive issues. I wish I had not installed it.

A lot of the links are broken, or I don't have permission or it says Spoiler. From what I could gather you need to fool the dg500 by putting 1.008 version & config file on your 1.005 set.

I put my old 1.005 sd card back in. The Dg500 boots fine. If I log in via wifi I get 1.005 menus but the version info is still 1.008. And the date is still 7-25
