BlackVue DR970X Plus - 2ch with B-130X battery hardwired
Does anyone know if the Blackvue batteries, B-124 (old model), B-124x and B-130x all use the same power cable?

I've currently got and old B-124 from 2018 and changing to a B-130x and hoping to just change out the box rather than having to re-wire and reroute new cabling

On the BlackVue product website the cables available for the B-124/B-124X/B-130X appear to be the same. I reviewed a B-124X back in 2019. I don't have it any longer so I can't check the cables in the box, but they appear to be the same.

The B-124/B-124X had a mode switch to (Cigarette/Off/Hardwire).

The B-130X only has an OFF/ON switch.

Even if the B-124/B-124X had the switch set to "Hardwire" and its charging power was provided by the cigarette lighter adapter cable, the presence of the third external contact (which is connected to ground on the charging cable) on XT60I-F connector would let the battery pack know that it should limit its charging amps to 5A.

Since the B-130X only has an "OFF/ON" switch, the B-130X relies on the charging cable connector being plugged into the battery pack's "DC In" charging port to have the third external contact when it's the cigarette lighter adapter power cable so the B-130X knows to limit its charging amps to 5A.

If you're using a cigarette lighter power cable supplied with the B-124, please make sure it does have the third external contact (just to make sure I'm not forgetting something). If you're using the B-124's hardwire charging cable, it should be the same as provided with the B-130X.

Thanks.
I saw the website listing the cables for sale and that they listed all 3 models for the same cables so assume they're all the same.
I've currently got it hardwired, so should be a quick and easy swap of the box.

Do you know how long the batteries last (life span in years, not hours per charge).

Should I expect 5 year, 10 years, 15 years etc.
My B-124 (original) is currently 6 years old and doesn't hold charge long.

The "life span" of a dash camera battery pack is usually expressed in "charge cycles" (how many times its charge level is depleted and then fully charged).

The B-130X is stated as retaining 80% of its storage capacity after 1,500 charge cycles. Depending on your driving/parking habits you'll have to work out how long that should mean it will be before it drops to 80% capacity. I'm still using an older Cellink B battery pack from 2019 and it seems to still be holding a good charge level when fully charged.
