no doubt you'll see others with this, I would think that most people won't be too concerned though so may not mention it
 
Here is a other DOD LS430W with the same problem. I found it on a russian dashcam forum.

Finally I received the cam. I am sure that it is a original DOD product. No doubt. Very good quality videos, even in dark places !!

Of course. Please wait until tomorrow, because the camera is in the car and now I am at home. I will take some detail photos, but I think that there are not any marks on the plastic like you showed before.

Nachoo, did you buy from ebay seller e-prance or eprance? There are 2 similar sellers on ebay. Both have the ls430w for $185 but one is charging an extra $10 for shipping. Even their listing content looks the same. Images all stamped e-prance. Yet only one listing says original dod ls430w. So confused. Lol. :)

It was ordered from Ebay. The seller is 'e-prance'.
Maybe the sun, and too much heat inside the car, can make that fissure.

It was from "e-prance" the item number: 111181605787. The price was 185 usd.
Now, the seller has the item 111217548109 and the price is 185 usd + 10 usd shipping. I have not seen a cheaper price

Hah! The LS430W has now completely disappeared from the e-prance store and the other "eprance" store is gone. Very dodgy.

Mine also arrived from e-prance on Ebay. Looks identical (and perfect) to nachoo's so I won't post pics. Definitely an original product. So far looks good testing indoors. Will let you guys know if I have any issues over time. Especially curious about the little battery inside...

Oh, flipping video does not flip time/date stamps on video, but that is super minor and AFAIK common to most dashcams.
 
I set up a mini greenhouse for the camera to check image quality in hot conditions. And yes the hot image blur problem still exists with the LS430W. At 54C the image was quite blurry compared to the nice sharp image at 25C. I can't post full pics as the camera was aimed at some private property I apologize.

YouTube is offering 1080 p video, but they are also processing the .MOV files first, so I am not exactly sure they are keeping the original quality at 100%.

can assure you they don't, upload files recorded at 15Mbit and they'll re-encode to less than a third of the original bitrate, they do a horrible job of it, it's free so we can't complain I guess
