Hello,

Just wanted to ask if any of these look fake - I don't really wanna put a fake card in the U1000.
  1. Card: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/B07G3JCG8Z
    1. SanDisk Extreme Pro 256 GB microSDXC Memory Card + SD Adapter with A2 App Performance + Rescue Pro Deluxe 170 MB/s Class 10, UHS-I, U3, V30, Red/Gold SDSQXCZ-256G-GN6MA
  2. Card Reader: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/B01EFPX9XA
    1. UGREEN USB 3.0 TF SD Card Reader, 5Gbps Card Reader Reads Simultaneously 2 x 2TB Cards, Memory Card Adapters Compatible with PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One etc
the h2wtest is currently running and I will put the result up here as well. Reader is connected to USB3.1 Port

Reading online the card apparently is supposed to have a green back with the black square where serial is written. This one has a full black back.

Your feedback is much appreciated!

If the card is being sold by (or fulfilled by) Amazon AND is being shipped by them too, it will be genuine unless a warehouse worker grabs the wrong card. If you do have problems Amazon is excellent in making things right.

With any new card you buy from anyone, it is wise to test it before putting it to work. Use the "SDformatter" freeware and do a full overwrite with that. If that's successful then use the "h2testw" or "Crystaldiskmark" freeware to confirm card speeds, again doing a full test and not the quick version. This may take a few hours based on card size and your computer's speed- I often do these overnight to let my aged laptop apply it's full power to the chore.

Do know that Thinkware cams can be picky about which cards they like to use, so even a perfect card might not function as intended. Check the U1000 forums here to see if others have used that card successfully before buying and if not you might want to consider buying something else being generally recommended there.

Yeah, aware that the U1000 is very picky as I experienced that with my 2 previous SD Cards, Sandisk High Endurance and Samsung Endurance Pro.

People had luck with the Sandisk extreme 400GB, but since the pro was a £2 more expensive decided to go for that.
Below is the seller - seems to be good!

And H2testw is on the read side now.

your speeds could be limited if your card reader is on a slower USB port, like a 2.0 one, my 3.0 reader are also on a 3.0 port so i have always seen the right speeds or at least as close to it as you would expect.

Regarding the memory size, then like hardrives that is not fully utilized , so a 256 GB drive might show up as a 244 GB drive.

My C: drive on the computer is a 500 GB Nvme drive from samsung, but asking for properties on it it only say 464 GB
My 4Tb spinning drive are listed as 3.63 TB in size available.

Yeah, I checked these. Its a 3.1 Port and the USB reader is rated to UHS-I 3.0 / 5Gbps.
I still believe the reader is to blame for max 90MB/s read, but the write looks to be correct at 88MB/s (Up to 90MB/s on the spec)

What worried me are the Random Read/Write on CrystalDiskMark and 32KB< on Atto Benchmark.

H2testw is almost finished - reading at 88MB/s - Write completed at 80MB/s.

I'm IT savvy so was aware of the drops in capacity hehe - expected these.

Yep, looking good :)

Forget any non endurance card.
Buy ONLY Endurance card like Samsung Pro Endurance or Sandisk High Endurance.

enjoy,
Mtz

Neither of them worked, Samsung 128GB Endurance made the dash cam freeze in parking mode and 256GB Endurance card from Sandisk just kept saying please format sd card.

I've read the same regarding endurance cards. On paper they look ideal but in practice they can be problematic.

Of course it all depends on your dashcam but my Viofo A119 has been up and running without a single dropped frame since Oct 19 on the same Samsung Evo Plus U3 128Gb.

All I do is bring the whole dashcam in weekly, easy with a A119 as it just lifts off the base one handed, and cut/paste to the PC and maybe format the card every couple of months if I remember.

After a blast of parking mode, the card works like a dream with the U1000 :D
So I can confirm the Extreme Pro 256GB also works with the U1000.

SanDisk Extreme Pro 256 GB microSDXC au$80.05 from a supplier I have been buying computer parts for decades in Australia.

SanDisk 256GB high endurance au$61.90 (I paid $70 a few months ago, bought 8 for spares)
SanDisk 256GB maximum endurance au$108.40
