Hello all. New member here, have been browsing on/off for about a week and finally decided to join up. :D

I am getting a new car, and have finally decided I am going to install a dashcam. I have decided on the FineVu CR500HD. Here are a few questions in relation to that though.....

Question one - I do not plan to utilize the Park Mode at all. I park in a garage at home, and am in a very secured area at work. In addition, I sometimes am parked for extended periods of time. I am still going to hardwire it, as I want that nice clean look. Are there any setups that aren't as 'fancy' as their power-kit for it? Meaning, just a simple hardwire to hook up to to my Accessory power and an always-on source, so it only comes on when the car is on, and shuts off when I turn her off? Or do I still need to use their kit and just set the camera to never activate parkmode?

Second question - I have an Escort Redline radar detector that will be mounted to the left of my Rear view Mirror, (Finevu is going on the right side), and it will be hardwired into Accessory for automatic on/off. I am a moron when it comes to electronics, (especially car electronics). Are there any issues with both of these hardwired getting their power and ground from the same spot?

Third and final question - Any have any advice for a second-gen, (2011+), Dodge Charger? My baby is a 2013 Charger SRT8. I believe I may have easy an easy tap point in my passenger A pillar, but if not, there is a large connector up underneath my glovebox that can be used from some videos I've seen on youtube. Any tips for easy install on one of these bad boys?

Thanks much everyone, lots of great info on these boards. And the reviews that are done, holy crapoli! Talk about helping me make up my mind on what to get, haha.

I only know the answer to Q1. No you don't need to use their power kits. you can hardwire it as you say if your not going to use the parking mode. :)

1) if you're not gonna use the parking feature then no the power kits is needed. Just find a 12v source that starts sending power upon startup (I tapped my ignition wire for juice), but you can easily source power from the fuse box.

2 & 3) I have a Bel StiR Remote detector that has a separate 12v powered speaker, V1, had a RedLine, Escort Live, Laser Interceptor quad & my dashcam getting power from 1 shared power source (above) and 1 ground. Rock solid reliability going on ~2yrs for all except cam.

Add-a-circuit is your friend, just ensure your find the right one to fit your panel

A little creativity helps-- my daisy wire example (Red) which is connected to my source power wire and then multiple output attachments created.
