GitUp Git2- Support, FAQ, Review

The current weather is just terrible but this is also a good occasion to test:
- Gyro: ON
- WDR: ON
- Colors: Vivid
and put them up against, darkness, incoming headlights, potholes filled with water, copious amounts of rain, bad and under construction roads. It seems that the Git2 manages just fine.

look like gitup got some promotion going on now at gearbest?

btw will gitup release dedicated charger for their battery? it is so troublesome to change the battery inside the camera again just only for charging purpose.

Currently we selll the dual battery charger, that one is also OK for SJ series battery.

The version Gearbest will sell, is that the version with the better focus etc? The improved one?

I think that the only diference is the support of lens (Before: metal. Now: plastic) and improved firmware for gyro.......I think

Yes that is what i mean 😉 Because there were some issues that the film was not sharp but a little bit blury.

So i hope gearbest is selling the improved one 🙂

The first batch also have some plastic lens holder version.
We have done carefully checking for the first batch, so the out of focus version will be limited, haven't heard other customers reported same problem.
Not only improved the Gyro, added something extra on FW, we will list in detail after officially released new firmware.
All of the first batch user will get full features as the hardware is same.

Thanks for your clarification. I thought that all of first batch had metal lens holder.

There is a question in spanish forum about first batch:

Do you have the serial number of git2?

Which the serial numbers of git2 whith plastic holder?

Thanks

It does not mean the metal lens holder version will have the focus problem, just guess that have focus problem camera using the metal lens holder.
Until now we haven't heard any other customers reported this.
You can also check on RCGroups, some one received and have sharp video.

GitUp Git2 FPV Live

What it means ?
Enables automatic video out when the Git2 camera is powered on and it's also possible to automatically enable video recording. So you will avoid messing with the camera when it's on your gimbal, no need to power on, enter menu, enable video out or start recording. Just power your multi rotor and let the Git do it's job

How it works

after 2 weeks of study gitup, i have finally ordered one from gearbest!

hope to receive it soon and hope gitup group can continue doing great work!

Great info. I just ordered a quad and was planning on using the git1 as the main FPV camera. Sounds like you have to turn on the dashcam option so it will start recording when it gets power. The alternative is to use the wristband remote, so you don't have a bunch of wasted footage from the time you per up till the starts or whatever.

DO NOT use the phone app via WiFi since WiFi uses 2.4ghz and so do most controllers, and they will interfere with each other. Found that out the hard way first time I tested an action camera on a quad. Thankfully no damage in the process.

Have you tried flying using the git2 as your FPV source? Lag seemed negligible in your short demo. How does it work in flight?

I've been waiting for some sunshine. Today the weather forecast said that it was raining with 76Km/h winds so I took the Git2 out on the bike and added another 50Km/h just to prove that you can record sound on an action camera in action without suffering from "wind noise"!

Camera mounted on bicycle handlebars with the gyro stabilisation on. No suspension on bicycle.

(Don't take too much notice of the video sharpness, apart from the poor lighting and rain on the lens, I compressed the 60fps video down to 12Mbps before upload to YouTube!)

Well if it's in the waterproof case, of course there's no wind noise. 😛

Got some pretty hellacious wind noise in a bike ride recently, even with the external mic and its foam wind screen.

I have tried to fly my friends phantom 1 with his gopro 3 silver as video source and his fat shark goggles as display, but i dont like the wide angle view you get with that.

Sure if you just fly high there is no problems, but when you get down low and in between things it start to be hard judging distance to things.
So we normally fly with a analog CCTV camera for the view, and then the gopro to record what ever go on.

What i really would like to see is a small PTZ camera for use on planes and quadcopters, 5 - 10 X zoom would be fine for recreational use.
