GitUp Git2- Support, FAQ, Review

I doubt a 3 year old card are only 20mbps ,thats is equal to 2.5MBytes/ s.

A flash drive in 2007 could do 6MBytes/sec

Not all flash memory is created equal. I've had brand new cards only do 14-15mbps write and 70mbps read. And it wasn't a no name or fake. Genuine transcend 32gb full size SD card.

I think you are confused ,there is a difference between mega Byte and mega bits.
All SD cards advertize the speed in mega Byte, where as the the video industry use bits .
8mbps of video means 1MByte/ sec.

Your windows pc/laptop is going to show the write speed in mega Bytes .

bit per seconds vs byte.
Usually, bit is for speed, byte for storage.
40mbps (mega bits per second) high-speed can only download 5 mb (mega byte) of data in 1 second.

not confused. just wrote that on my phone and didn't capitalize. i'm well aware of the difference between a bit and a byte. that's why we talk about the BITrate of a video file, and MB/s transfer rates.

that 14-17 number was reported by h2testw and is a reliable megabyte/sec number. 10MB/s is the minimum xfer rate for a class10 or U1 card, so it's perfectly fine for companies to sell cards that "slow" and not be charged with false advertising. yes, the card i bought is a class 10, so those speeds are normal and acceptable. if you need to write faster, then you need to buy a U3 card. but generally, even 1080p60 will have no issues writing to a class10 card unless it's raw, uncompressed video. thankfully, all dashcams create compressed video files.

i still maintain that not all flash memory is created equal. you can still buy class 4 (and lower!) cards today. they're often peddled to people who don't know any better or simply don't care. slow cards like that are generally fine for mp3 players, cheap still cameras, and low-rez video recorders (i use an 8gb class 4 card in my 2-channel VGA dashcam).

The FPV user and I also did some testing for non-brand 4GB card, it seems also works in 1080P mode.

We upgrade the audio quality on Git2.

1. Upgrade the internal MIC
2. Support stereo audio with external stereo MIC, automatically detect if the external MIC is stereo or Mono version.

- See more at: http://www.gitup.com/blog/19_How-Good-Audio-Quality-on-Git2-.html

Download the sample to see the difference:

The Git2 internal mic sounds the best of those samples!

The Hero4 has too much bass, is not as clear and has an automatic volume control that has made the quiet bits the same volume as the loud bits.

The SJ5000X_Elite has sounded like you are listening from underwater in every clip I've heard from it so far.

Most of my tar barrels video used a pair of Boya LM20 microphones connected in stereo, they do sound better than the internal mono microphone, although it sounded even better before Youtube got it.

To use this better Japan internal MIC, we redesigned the PCB, delayed releasing, also the cost is near 4 times double than old version, but is acceptable.
While many manufactures rush to release products, we are also a little worried, thanks to the engineers, they always told me please give us more time for testing and improving.

That is good to hear as Git1 sound was really a major slip.

I wonder if that iGoMic is designed to correct the excessive bass of the GoPro, on the Git2 it appears to be lacking in bass, seems a bit expensive for what I am hearing but GoPro owners seem to like it.

The Git1 sound is good if you are recording something that is the correct volume, or have a microphone of the correct sensitivity, unfortunately the volume is often out of range and it doesn't cope with that well.

The Git2 appears to be able to manage any volume with decent quality.

The git1 can use an external mic too, but yes its internal mic is way too loud when used outside the waterproof case.
Before we are not satisfied with low volume on Git1, so we try to turn it up, but it will be over loaded in some conditions, we will do some adjusting in future.
We also care the audio quality on Git1, tried many solutions, but the MIC is not so good as Git2.

Problem is, the git1 is an action camera. It should be able to record even middling sound levels without clipping, but it can't. I haven't been to another race to try with and without the waterproof case, but I wonder if it will even do properly then.

At the end of this video, I was talking to my passenger at a normal volume, but for some reason the mic was being overdriven by the mild exhaust sound just above idle. We didn't have to yell or even raise our voices to hear each other over the exhaust. Yet it was clipping with just my voice!

I think it would be neat if you had a menu option to toggle between two or three different mic sensitivity levels. Say super sensitive for when it's in the waterproof case, and one or two lower ones for when it's out of the case.

Yes, we tried that before releasing, but the result is not good. We will recheck it after Git2 releasing, wish it can be implemented on Git1.

got some doubts for Git2

1) is the battery can be used for Sjcam as well?
2) is AoV 160 or 170?
3) how we claim the warranty if something no going well?
4) which sensor is better : IMX206 or imx078

thanks =]

1. GitUp cameras can use SJCAM battery, but our battery can not be used for SJCAM as battery size is a little bigger.
2. We declared it as 170 degree, I see SJ5000X also declared as 170 degree, but obviously Git2 have larger FOV.
3. Normally we offer 1 year warrant for customers who buy directly from us, of course we care of all of the products we sold, don't worry about the warranty. As a new brand, we know how important the warranty for us.
4. It is IMX206 16MP sensor.

Which FPS will be max for 1440p and for 1600x1200 and do you expect higher in near future through firmware upgrade?
Do you think like with Xiaomi Yi that improved levels will become available in near future through settings in autoexec.ash startup file?
How do you expect camera can be started at same time in near future?
How long will it take for new orders to ship?

I mean multiple camera (16) start at same time
