I just installed a Cobra SC200 dash cam using the Cobra hard wiring kit. The wiring kit just uses a single wire for power and a ground. I'm connected to unswitched power and plan to use parking mode. When I completed the installation I discovered the module, which is inline and part of the cable, is defective. I can't get power to the camera. A multimeter indicates the correct voltage at the module input, but nothing coming out. I won't buy another Cobra product.
I'm new to dash cams and know very little about them. Can someone recommend a good quality wiring kit with a micro USB connector ? I can't find any switched fuses in my vehicle, at least not in the dash area convenient for the installation. They are all under power. Do most kits have three wires, switched/unswitched/ground ?
