I'm just wondering, as i read some topics about problems with the ITB-100HD, might this have to do with the new firmware 2.1?
Because in that case i'm not sure if i will try to update mine.

I updated with no issues.
Didn't notice any improvement either.

Mtz replied in another topic but i think it's good to have it in this topic as well :):

Firmware 2.1 have some changelog like:
1.) some improvements regarding the image exposure and backlighting

2.) different viewing colors for parking mode depending on events. Shock are marked with green and Motion with purple. You must use the latest PC HD Player to view these new colors.

3.) front security LED behavior change: when event detected the LED will blink rapidly.

4.) one more value for motion sensitivity.

5.) change the display units: Km-> km/h

6.) other improvements for system stability

The new PC player will reflect some of the new firmware options like 2.) and 4.)

Hi all,

First time poster. After a lot of year with an X-Driven DRS-1100 dash camera I thought it was about time to upgrade from VGA to HD resolution. After a lot of searching and reading I finally decided that the ITB-100 HD was the best camera for my purpose.

I bought the camera from an eBay seller that used to sell this camera. I just emailed them and asked if they had any left. $195 seemed like a fair price.

I received the camera a couple of days ago. When I look at the setting for this camera I noticed that it had firmware version 2.2. I thought that this might be of interest to others. The Dash Cam Talk review of this camera mention that the latest firmware for this camera is v2.1

Welcome to the forum, and to the group of users with HD cams :).

I'm very interested in the new firmware. But without a changelog I'm not going to install it. I also don't know how you can retrieve it from your cam.
Perhaps Mtz of other users know.

The V2.2 is not official on their site and I don't think can be downloaded from somewhere until now.

Hi oddpoo,

A new firmware is great. Hopefully they post it publicly.

Just some days after I got my first ITB-100 I received a second one from another seller. This camera have firmware version 2.1. I e-mailed Itronics support and asked them about the difference between these two firmware versions and where I could download the latest version for the second camera.

No reply from Itronics... anyone surprised

No response is not surprising. Their customer service skills are not the best.

Only the reseller customers service are answering. For $330 an ITB camera I think they can do that more easy, because who knows, in the future you will order a new one.
If there is some 2.2 firmware, someday it will be uploaded on their site. Until now it is not so important because the camera is working well with no major bugs and if the owner didn't saw any improvements I think are not major just the usual korean tiny improvement like how is blinking the LED.

Will be nice if we discover a way to extract the firmware from these cameras.

@oddpoo how long does it take for the camera to startup and record? so after how many seconds is the first beep?
because i find mine slow and perhaps they made it quicker with the new firmware.

Hi Vince,

There is no difference between 2.1 and 2.2 regarding startup time. Both take about 29 seconds until the startup tune. The only difference I have noticed, so far, is that the 2.2 seems to shut down a little faster. The shutdown tune for the 2.1 start just after the shutdown tune for 2.2 is finished (using the original SD-card in both cameras).

I emailed one of the sellers and he told me that version 2.2 is only available for the Korean market. The English version of 2.2 is not released yet.

Some additional information regarding firmware 2.2. According to one ITB-100HD seller that I have been in contact with Itronic will release the English version of 2.2 in April.

Yeah, and after 3 months of waiting we will see they changed some thing about LED blinking or 1 second faster start. This is their usual firmware update so don't wait for some great things. Also the camera is working OK, no bugs. But if the english version will receive some english voice then we will see how some greedy reseller will start posting again on this forum about how bad can be to not have some english voice because you bought the camera at the right price.

Updated to 2.1 firmware and it fried my card. Pulled card out and notice it was warped from excessive heat. Installed another card and a few days later the same experience. Unsure want to do now.

Wow, this is very strange. Can you post some pictures from your damaged cards? From front and from back side.

Not able to take pics but if you hold card, the back has distinctive bumps (outlining the electronic chips) and the side has a slight dip. I am using a Sandisk 32 gb microSd with adapter. The microSd card is not warp only the adapter but the microSd was very difficult to remove from adapter. The microSd will not format or read from computer using a new adapter.

I am afraid to not have some problems with the card pins. Maybe someday you forced the sd card in the opposite direction in the camera and that action damaged the pins.
I am not a specialist in this, but is only a supposition.

Wish that was the case but I am very careful inserting the card. Two cards went bad. I going to go with 2.0 firmware and see how this goes. Good to know that this is not a common occurrence.

I experience similar with 'fried' SD card as EyesofTX did. I use a paper cutter to carefully pry and cut off the edges of the microsd adapter to removed the microsd card. The microsd card is usable in another microsd adapter after a full wipe of data.
