First of all your post is in the wrong place. It should be here:

viewforum.php?f=26

Secondly: Pleas read whole thread and see what buyers experience says about 3800FU.
Having bought it 6 month ago and fully tested I must say it could have potential ( good Sony Exmor sensor, a lot of vents for heat dissipation ), but poor firmware, - not up to modern world competitors standard. Low bitrate. Poor white balance.
If developers would pay more attention on firmware, - it might be a good dash cam ( hardware allows it ), but until now it is so-son.

Hello once again fellow Dash Cam enthusiast I glad that some of you are actually finding the postings here informative. Here are some more videos with the IROAD IONE-3800FU. The videos were joined using MS Movie Maker! I did save them at the original 1080p.

Is there any chance you can upload and share original non edited files from night driving. I want to see if quality has been improved.

There was a tricky part with time and date setting, dont' remember exact steps any more, but you should find all info from Manual:

When i saw the first video, i was like damn that looks sooo crisp, see every license plate, so much better than my 3800FU. Then i saw the third and fourth, which are quite blurry and out of focus, pretty similar to how mine behaves most of the time. I know part of it is lighting, but it seems the 3800FU capture is very inconsistent, and mine is out of focus most of the time. It gets worse when its been out in the sun.

I read the manual twice and it doesnt say how to change the time :(

set the time on the viewer by "checking" time and change it to approximately when you will next insert the SD card, say 8am of the following day. At 8am of the following day, insert the SD card, boot up the camera, and the camera will read the setup file to change the time.

I did it this way:
Took microsd card from 3800fu at home and started PC it's dedicated viewer program. Set time 2min upfront from real time. Then went into my car, inserted a microsd card into dash camera, switch on ignition and time was set correctly.

I tried both :( but it still not updating :( btw I have the constant power cable if that makes any difference

when set time on your PC viewer, click "save". Then close program. Then go to your car. Unplug power cable from dash camera. Insert a memory card. Now plug power cable back. Turn on ignition.
Try this way. It might help.

Just got this camera, installed the viewer, but when trying to save settings the app crashes, also, its not possible to open the files on the SD card, nothing happens in the viewer when i double click it.
Is there something im missing?
Downloaded this vers [Viewer]IROAD IONE-290V English Viewer player v1.0(20130802) from the http://www.navinc.co.kr/mall/en_index.php site

So I have not checked my clips for a while. And upon looking, I found the date to be reset. I was able to change the time back by configing the SD card, but it seems when the car powers off, the date is reset again to 2012. It used to be able to retain the date. Updating firmware did not help. Maybe the internal small battery has died completely and it cannot even retain the date anymore without constant power? But the language did not reset each time though. Weird.

and, the gps led turns red for a couple of minutes after power on, then goes off, what does that mean?

Dont buy this camera, its crap covered with a glossy housing, and whatever you do, at least dont buy it here thinking you will get faster service or delivery, im talking of experience.
Mark is nice, but it takes a week to get a response. www.mycarcam.nl.
So far ive had this camera, and still not being able to set it up due to problems with firmware and Viewer, disappointing and frustrating, i consider this as money out of the window.
My best bet would be the Blackview 500, and from a the ebay seller.

Have you tried to write directly to manufacturer?
If going with Blackview you might get less troubles, but it still not most reliable dash cam out there. Fir same money you can get many other much higher quality dash cams like Lukas, Panorama2 ( Powerucc ), Vicovation etc.

Yes, three times the past 2 weeks, not i a sign of life, horrible!!!

I guess there simply are currently no professional providers of dashcams yet, i guess we just have to wait for the large brands to make them, cause now everything is just DIY or lottery...

hi,
I have the 3800FU (+ GPS) for 1 month. 'cnf greensum'

identified problem

- GPS does not work. The LED does not light
and the coordinates for the viewer is that of Korea (I'm in Belgium).
I try to settle with the program, the only change is the indicator google map that gets on my time GMT+1 (on the equator)

- Recording time outdated.
It is about time horraire korea! I read the procedure given above
but I have a doubt about the operation, but I'll try.

- Some crash:
sometimes starts again at launch!
Sometimes the manual event is not marked as event in the video!
some delay between the sound and video.

- I do not let the cam all the time on the stand, I hope that with time it will not break.

otherwise,

good video quality
sound perfect
discreet

good evening,

Ps : My mother language is French, sorry for the mistakes

Hi guys,

I have been reading all 13 pages including all comments. I am starting a webshop in Holland, and we were looking for a good quality supplier to stand above the chinese poor quality. Somehow we chose Jaewon. You can visit the site including 3 types (IONE-900HD, IONE-3300CH, IONE-3800FU) on my website here: www.mycarcam.nl.

Tomorrow i will be testing all three camera's at day and night time. Of course i will share my experiences with you! From what I have seen now on my 'freestyle' tests is that the IONE-900HD seem to have better quality at 720P than the IONE-3800FU at 1080P. Will keep you updated! Just hoping the results aren't disappointing, since I haven't read too many positive reactions above... :(

Good night for now!

Greetings,

Mark

A shame your bad reputation already precedes you then ;)
