Memory Cards Confirmed Working/Not Working?

Isn’t there any other sd card beside the Sandisk max endurance? 256gb costs 1/3 of the a229.

Ok, for 2 days, my T130 is running on 256 Gb SanDisk A1 Ultra with no problems.
I'm driving 7 maybe 8 hours per day (except saturday and sunday) and I am using 12 hours setting for parking mode with low bitrate.
Therefore, the camera is running 20/24.
Still running without problems. And is one of the most cheapest quality model... at least in my country.
I don't know for 229, but still I have a camera more and the sd card needs to work very hard with 2×1080 + 1×2k resolutions.

Maybe is the best way to give the a1 ultra a try, and purchase the max endurance if the ultra doesn’t work properly. My order is still on its way from China to the Netherlands, so I have still time. Will you keep me informed about the ultra? Thanks in advance.

The Ultra A1 cards are known to fail in dash cameras, so best to avoid. They will flip to read only mode at anytime. I lost 3 of them, all within a few weeks of each other. Stick with what others are having known success with.

I have used an 128 Gb A1 Ultra without any issue for about 6 months in my T130 AFTER a 3 year usage in my old A119S. It's still working after almost 4 years, i just made an upgrade.

The 256 variant of A1 Ultra I bought it after I spend money for nothing for a highly recomended at that time 256 SanDisk High Endurance that didn't worked.

Ok, ok. I am convinced, and will buy a max endurance card.

The A1 cards work great, until they don't. The older Ultras were notorious for flipping into read only mode and when the newer versions came out (the A1's) they seemed to be reliable, but many users stated having issues with them at some point. I used to recommend the newer A1's, until lots of issues started to arise with users, myself included. If they work good for you, great, but it's not a card I would recommend, especially with their newer cameras, which at the moment appear to be very picky with cards.

I just had a brand new 256 GB Samsung EVO plus stop working, after filling up around 2 times, i do however think that is on the memory card and not the camera, the card was very slow on the PC so i had to run it over with SDformatter to get speed back.
It is the exactely same issue i saw with the 256GB adata endurance card, though that one was slow right out of the blister pack and so never reaally seen use in any dashcam, but it work fine in my osmo action camera that with 4K/60 hit the memory card harder than any dashcam would do.
On the other hand i had good luck with the WD purple in 256GB but the old fast model not the new slow QD101 branded ones.

So far I haven't had any issues on the Sandisk Ultra A1 200gb... But we will see how long that last. Had been using it for over a week now.

I have been using a 256GB Samsung Pro Endurance for about a week, and it's filled to about 80%. No issues recording so far. I need to remove the memory card and insert it into a USB card reader to retrieve files. Plugging the dashcam into a PC results in it restarting every 10 seconds and using the app (wifi) to download results in the android App freezing at between 12 and 20 percent.

@viofo Is there any compatibility issues with Samsung's High Endurance or Pro Endurance sd cards?

Interesting to see the SanDisk Extreme listed there as being "recommended" given that it's not even an endurance card, nor is it warrantied for dashcam use by the manufacturer...
Samsung Extreme is a TLC card for sure.

Yes, we found this High Endurance card may have compatible issue, but no issues with the MAX Endurance version.
I find this strange because you sell the A229 Duo in combination with a Sandisk High Endurance card on your Viofo Benelux website. Did a firmware update fix the compatible issues with this card?

I hope so, because I'm interested in buying the A229 Duo but only if I know for sure that the Sandisk High Endurance cards (in particular the 256GB version) work flawless with this dashcam now.

Can you confirm this? Thanks in advance.

Keep in mind that this site/company is likely just a distributor/dealer for Viofo in your country. They likely have no affiliation with Viofo otherwise.

I checked their "about us" page and it seems you're absolutely right! They are the official distributor of Viofo dashcams and accessories for Europe. I'll mail them and ask why they include the High Endurance cards since they have compatibility issues.

Thanks for pointing this out to me (y)

Is this the card you are using?

I ordered the A229 but don't have a memory card for it yet. Is there a difference between the all white Samsung Pro endurance card vs the Black/white Pro Endurance card?
Would like to know before ordering a card online/purchasing in store since the all white pro endurance does go up to 256gb while the black/white only goes to 128; not sure if it makes a difference for recording though.

I am using the Sandisk Ultra 256GB card for 2 months now, without any issues (a229 duo).
