Mini 0805 date format can't be set to mm/dd/yyyy ?

I bought a secondary (or alternate) dash cam 'mini 0805' thinking its size wouldn't be too visible no need to unmount so they don't break my window just to steal it. Somehow I couldn't change date format to mm/dd/yyyy. In addition the unit may be defective (or by design?) the time setting always return back to default 12:00 right after the time was set, I'm not sure if I'd buy another G1WH or try another mini 0805.
