A look at the mini 0807 parking mode with a sample of the low frame rate footage at the end.

Since the OBD2 cable is just constant power and ground without an IGN or ACC input, am I correct to assume the camera knows when the car is running and begins regular recording when it senses the voltage rise from the vehicle's alternator? If so, can I just use a 2-wire fused lead with the same barrel connector as the included OBD2 cable? Or even just cut off the OBD2 plug of that cable and hardwire to 12Volts? Fused of course.

Great question, @TonyHC.

Did you do it? Does the trick work?

It depend on the drop of the car battery voltage to judge whether it is turned off, when engine turn on the voltage is about 13.8V, when turn off, the voltage is about 12.5V.
