Mirror Taps Anyone? I cannot seem to find any discussion about this?

Dashcam via 12v rearview mirror USB power?

I used to use a Waylens Secure 360 dashcam which received a 12v input via my rearvier mirror tap with a type C USB. Unfortunately this does not work with my Garmin 66W dash cam which apparently is a 5v input dashcam. Blackvue and Thinkware apparently are 12v input dash cams but they do not use...

The issue is the 12v mirror tap voltage is not compatible with most dash cams
 
There is a company which sells cables with a 12v to 5v converter built in, so you can use the mirror power
