For the Dash Cam people, being able to do the same would be an important feature too, especially after the accident and I need to show the police what just happened.
I know this is a super-late reply but I recently was involved in a fender-bender where the other car ran a stop sign and hit me. There was actually no need to review the footage since it was clear the other car was at fault for running the stop sign, but nevertheless I was waiting for police and insurance and thinking to myself: I have no way of reviewing the video right here right now.
I used to have a Galaxy S5 so in the past I was able to just pull the microSD from my Mobius, place it in my phone and review the video. But now I switched to a Nexus 6P which has no memory card slot. To avoid this situation in the future (not being able to review the video immediately) I purchased this adapter: https://www.amazon.com/gp/B00YQM8352
That adapter in particular lets you read a microSD card with a USB-C phone. You can find the exact same thing for phones with either microUSB or miniUSB connectors. It's a cheap gadget that I now keep in the car at all times and lets me review the video whenever I need to.
