My dash cam will only work when the car is running.
I've plugged it into a mains charger and the blue light goes on for less than one hour then goes off.
I've done this now 3 times - once overnight - but the dash cam will only turn on briefly and shows a low battery.
Has the battery had it, or is there a way to fix this?
If not is it possible to change the battery?
Where can I get one from?

The batteries in the 2 series dash cams only last a year or 2, then they frequently die from posts here

Nextbase can ship a new battery out, at cost, for you to dismantle and desolder/solder in. Or they will replace the battery for about £30

The usual advice here is to ditch it and get a dashcam with supercaps that will last much longer

Thanks for your reply, Kremmen.
What are "supercaps" and how will I know if the dash cam has them?

Most of the latest dashcams have 'super capacitors'

Once you've decided on which brand/ model to get, ask here. Loads of knowledgeable members

I had 3 Nextbase dashcams, 402, 412, 380, before I researched and went Viofo A119 V3. Now many years old and still 100% reliable (supercaps)
