Nextbase 322GW won't update latest firmware

Whilst plugged into my pc I'm trying to update the firmware through MyNextbase Player.
However, despite having excellent broadband connection and speed, an error message keeps coming up saying to check my internet connection.
I'm running windows 7 professional and the camera has not been updated for a while - current version 16.3 - latest version 23.7.
Any ideas how I can sort this?

Download the update manually from the Nextbase website, copy the files to the SD card. Make sure the cam is fully charged, or plugged into a power source. Switch the unit on and the update should happen automatically. It should restart twice (there'll be some flashing lights, don't panic).
