Not there when it counted?

Well, I clicked on the file and it just played without any problems. I'm running Linux Mint with firefox, and it played fine in firefox.

Video played just fine on the OneDrive link via Brave browser on my android.
Same here using MS Edge on a Windows 11 OS.

Edit: Also played fine using Firefox on the same system.

Well I guess we got it figured out.
I don't know how, or why.
It turns out the video file was on the SD Card but your computer could not play the video.
Who knows?

I clicked the link, and it started playing on my Chromebook.
But the resolution was only 1080p.
I downloaded the video file to my Chromebook.
However my Chrombook could not play the file because it's H.265, (all I get is a small black screen with audio only).
So I uploaded the video file to YouTube, and not only does it work but we get the full 4K resolution.

I used the RedTiger app that they included in the file. When I tried to use Edge it didn't play. I didn't try Chrome. I haven't updated to Windows 11 on my personal machine. When I retire, I'm going with Linux OS. I'll have time to learn it then. Microsoft lost me with their AI bloat and subscription model for Windows 11. What idiots.

I want to say a BIG THANK YOU TO THIS COMMUNITY!!! You jumped in and helped a DashCam illiterate newbie without condensation or snark.

I'll probably reinstall the old DashCam in my new (used) car.

Thanks for the update.
If you're going to put the RedTiger dash cam back in service you might want to replace the SD Card with a brand new / fresh unit.
SD Cards wear out over time, maybe that was a factor in this malfunction.
Oh yeah, and always remember to format the SD Card at least once a month.

I suggest Linux Mint Cinnamon. It is stable, and the user interface is very similar to Windows.

I use Debian Linux, but I would suggest Mint Linux. My 69 year old brother installed Mint on his Windows 10 box as I talked him through it on the telephone. He is pretty sharp and can read a manual, I have yet to have him ask me for tech support. There is an excellent Mint forum where you can get help: Linux Mint forum

I am not a fan of dual-boot systems, so unless you have a burning need for Windows, then go with Mint only on the drive.

...but I would suggest Mint Linux...
I second this recommendation for anyone moving from Windows to Linux. It's the easiest migration from a user interface perspective of any of the Linux distros I've tried.

Win 11 so far not been as huge of a buzz kill as i hear it is for other, especially outside of the EU gang.
But yeah i am seriously entertaining Linux too, and fortunately i can do it first on my laptop and so that way get my feet wet.

Gaming held me bad for many years, though a long time ago, and i have realized after a few decades that the kind of games i like to play will never ever be made again.
Also as this is FPS games, and i am getting old, well my reaction speed is not as snappy as it once was, very much doubt i could maintain a top 50 / 100 worldwide even if they made a good game, and i now have nothing but time to play.
In the old days i had that work thing taking up time too, so only able to cram in 6 - 8 hours of gaming every day.

Better to just not use computer
