Playback recordings on Galaxy A40

I am trying to find an app for my Galaxy A40 that can view the A119S recordings, I am using a good quality OTG cable and card reader.

I have on my phone the following file apps: Samsung My Files, File Manager-XFolder, MX Player, USB Camera and VLC. When I connect the phone/OTG/reader and micro card none of the recordings are seen by any of the apps but all play fine on my PC. I am also having problems removing the OTG/reader and micro card as this always seem to cause an error where the card needs to be repaired and the phone needs to be restarted.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Well, it's been over 3 years. someone must have an app that works with the Viofo 119S If you have one please let us know which app it is!

And you still have the same phone? I tend to keep mine as long as possible, but I "upgraded" recently
so best I can do is tell you what I have and what has worked for me so far.

My dash cam is Viofo A329S 3CH using the Main, Cabin, and Rear cams and the HK6 hardwire kit for power.
My cell is Android, Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra running Android 15. I also have the VLC Player loaded on
my cell but I have only used it to stream live video from the A329S over WiFi.

Every time I use WiFi to download saved videos from the A329S to my phone the files all go to my Samsung Gallery
app, version 15.6.04.2, by default, and I can play them just by tapping on any of the file icons. I don't know why, or how,
I didn't set it up that way. I just found them there, and they played.

A Google search is suggesting your A40 was first released in 2019, is everything up-to-date? When I upgraded, my "old"
phone was a Samsung A50 and it was really showing it's age. Any, and possibly all apps on my phone could
be newer versions, just food for thought?

Sure do, the A40 still works and so does the 119S. The problem is still getting one to work with the other! These may be a bit old , but so am I. Technology advances it leaps and bounds, now we have AI, but I cannot update my old brain.
Lets just say 'If it ain't busted don't fix it'
Reckon the only option is to scan Google Play for any 'Video' app that may do the job and if I find one that does, then uninstall all the others. I was hoping someone had already done that.
I do update when I am given the option. I like the A40 as it is smaller than most of the others and fits in my trouser pocket, however I think there is someone also in there as when the phone is taken out there is usually one of the apps running that was not there when I put it in.

Viofo does have an app on Google Play. I've been playing (and working) in electronics my whole life.
and I do love my gadgets, so I keep up when I can.

And as one Geezer (retired and 68) to another Geezer perhaps you are not aware of "The Geezer's Paradox"?

Wow, Thank you for the app info. there are a LOT of video apps on Play! I will try it out tomorrow..
That could have been from one Geezer to an old Geezer (Also retired and 77). Geezer, being a very 'British East End' term.
I like the Paradox.

Didn't quite go as I had hoped, seems that App does not work with the A119s. The 119s May not use Wi-Fi or Blue Tooth. I guess it's just a straight Video to SD recorder..
