it's going to depend on environmental issues I guess, depends what's going on around, it won't be sunlight that keeps it recording but other movement, changes in lighting etc

Probably I am one of the unlucky buyers that received a cam with a very high sensitivity...because it start recording without change in lighting or even a tree in the wind.

I forgot to mention that the motion detection works OK in the indoor parking, cloudy days or in the evening.
