SJCAM M10+ Plus 2K Action Camera ***Owners Thread ***

Short video footage from night driving with the M10+

Is there any SJCAM app in development for the Windows Phone OS? Only currently available on Android/IOS? :(

I have tested the bit rates for a series of resolution:

Data rate (video) without audio. Final bit rate with audio included is a bit larger.

2K@30 fps Gyro OFF: 20193 kbps
2K@30 fps Gyro On: 21232 kbps
1080p@60 fps Gyro Off: 19451 kbps
1080p@60 fps Gyro On: 21099 kbps
1080p@30 fps Gyro Off: 18099 kbps

720p@120fps Gyro Off:17931 kbps
720p@120fps Gyro On: 19891 kbps

Here is also the M10+ with Gyro / daytime driving. The effect is most visible on the car hood.
Notice, due to buggy encoding of YouTube the images seem a bit choppy. They are fluid in raw files.

Please pay attention to the following official update procedure:

Upgrading Firmware to v1.5 Tutorial

Updating firmware Version 1.5 for the SJCAM M10+ plus has several new steps. You will need to install a Loader file first (LD96660A.bin) and then the Firmware (SJCAMM10.bin).

Important: The firmware and process is only for units with M10+ v1.5 firmware and below. Firmware versions above 1.6 will not require the first step which is installing the Loader software.

Warning: Once the M10+ firmware has been updated to Version 1.5 or 1.6, you cannot flash the M10+ to lower firmware versions. This firmware is only for units with Versions v1.5 and below. If you revert back to a firmware version lower than v1.5 (like v1.3, v1.4), you will brick your camera and it will no longer be functional (black screen).

Installing Loader Software:

a)Make sure to format the microSD card.
b)Copy the loader “LD96660A.bin” into the root of your MicroSD card.
c)Insert microSD card into the M10+ unit and power the camera on. Note: makes sure the camera is off when inserting the card. Once the camera is powered on, turn the M10+ off and remove the card.
d)Delete the loader LD96660A.bin from the MicroSD card. Next, copy v1.5 firmware file “SJCAMM10.bin” into the root of the microSD. Note: there is no need to format the card again
e)Re-insert the MicroSD into the powered off M10+ and power the unit on. It may take 10-15 seconds for the firmware to install. The blue and yellow light will blink until the firmware is installed and then the unit will power on. Check the firmware version to confirm version has successfully been updated then delete the firmware file SJCAMM10.bin from card otherwise the firmware will re-install upon re-powering the unit on.

1.5 Official Changelog

1) Fixes the Duplicate License Plate Number watermark issue under "LicenseNoSet" menu option. Also fixes the license mark not being removed when option is deselected.
2) Fixes issue when after the unit has been powered off, then powered back on again, the Gyro settings need to be reset. Adds a Gyro Sensor Quick Key - when using M10+ to record or take pictures, gently press the WiFi button to switch the Gyro off/on. Press the button down longer for Zoom.
3) Improves automatic white balance (AWB)
4) Fixes left side of the screen has a line issue.
5) Enhances Wifi signal strength and improves Wifi signal stability.

Warning: Once the M10+ firmware has been updated to Version 1.5, Do not flash the M10+ to lower firmware versions. This firmware is only for units with Versions v1.5 and lower.

If you revert back to a firmware version lower than v1.5 (like v1.3, v1.4) you will brick your unit and camera will have a black screen

I sent you a PM a couple of days ago. Mind taking a look? :3
Hello Bluf, Yes, I just replied. I also passed your question on to our engineers.

Just signed up, but been following this thread.
Any time line on when the M10+ will get the Sony sensor?

seen those recently, the 'leaked' photos

funniest line on the page where they came from, CAN would like to send a special Thanks to Darryl K. from San Francisco for the pics.

Indeed, but it's also very possible that we'll get a Sony based M10+, as it's a tradition now: 4000 ->M10, 4000+->M10+, next logical step it will be 5000X Elite -> M10X Elite.

they should stick to making products and trying to improve that rather than the questionable marketing stuff

The update from 1.5 to 1.6 can be done by skipping the loader update.
Here's a quick method of how to do it if you already have the 1.5 version
