Testing out new 2014/04/14 firmware

just stuck in front of the computer again so i thought i'd look at those GPS logs. Yes they all have V,,,,,,,,,,, in front of the log. The question is how do i edit them out? Using a mac here.

Those strange data characters were added in the September firmware, and stayed around ever since. I remember posting photos about it. It's somewhere in this long thread but too many pages to find it.

No need to edit them out, RegistratorViewer (and DashCam Viewer) should read the data just fine.
(unless you're doing some kind of other programming or non-standard thing)

which playback software are you using and which version, Mac or Windows?

My 0801 came with firmware 20140429 does anyone know where I can download it? I've looked everywhere for this version but can't find it

I believe that firmware (201440429) is for the new 0803. Was it running on an 0801? Or do you actually have an 0803?

I definitely have an 0801. The highest res I can select is 1080p, and it looks like an 0801

Don't take this as me saying your wrong but the 0803 looks just like an 0801 - It may be worth taking a closer look. Does it require a mini or micro power connection?

From only a physical look there is no way of telling 0801 vs 0803 if it has with mini-USB port. 0803 is also anufactured with mini-USB ports as well.
If it has micro-USB port ( like mobile phone chargers ), then it 100% 0803. Best is to look trough menu for LDWS and Resolution ( 1296p ), - then its 0803.

A7LA30 version doesn't have LDWS or 1296p option, WDR option is in the menu of all versions of 0803 though

Your firmware version is correct for 0801, not sure why anyone thinks otherwise

Strange. My 0803 is with A7LA50D, has 1296p, LDWS and WDR. Or maybe I misunderstood about conversation?

no that's correct, if it were the A7LA30 version it's still an 0803, still does WDR, but no LDWS or 1296p

So firmware version 20140429 works for both 0801 and 0803?

I've not tried ay other firmwares, but the 20140429 seems very stable, hasn't missed a beat (for me at least)

Sounds like it, the naming convention differs between 0801 and 0803
