V2.0 Firmware for Public Testing

As a backup power for when your battery is drained and you really want to record the surroundings when you park.

I always have a charged powerbank in my glove box so I can just connect it to the side usb-c and record in such emergencies.
why would you not just plug it into the top?

Because of the way I placed the gps mount behind the rearview mirror, the cable at top is fixed. I cannot unplug it.

I don't know if anyone is interested in this, but I've been working on a little project.
With @viofo allowing us to export settings, I thought, why not build a nice GUI to check the settings on the PC?
It will read the viofo_config file and display the selected settings.
Here is a screenshot that will show the displayed data.
If anyone is interested in this, I'll share it.

This looks quite awesome!

Will have to remember to do that export thing next i drive somewhere.

Nice work! 👍
Mac or Windows?

Perhaps Viofo could build something like this into their desktop player…Just makes it nice and easy to have an overview of all the settings, instead of scrolling through camera or App menus…

SD Card –
Grrr. as i take the ssd with me now, not the sd card.
Does running backup/transfer of the SD card footage to SSD transfer this file with it?

Guess ill have to pop out the sd card then to grab the file (unless it shows in the app somewhere with the video files and i can just download it to phone)

SD Card –
Wait, "removing the sd card" will trigger the file creation? That makes no sense.
How is the cam able to make and write a file, as or after you eject the sd card?
U typically remove the sd card when the cam is powered off.
So, this is saying you have to remove the sd card, while the cam is on, to trigger the creation of the config file?
Is there something lost in translation here?

Good point!
Not sure, but guess it may be a translation thing…Perhaps with the new setting option turned on, it writes the Config file whilst the SD card is in place (and re-writes any time a setting is changed?), which you can then retrieve upon next removal….?
I don’t know, as I haven’t installed v2…

I guess @Julian23 will know as he’s obvioulsy used the function with his neat UI reader….

Are they saying the config tool is note++?
I ask because that's what the file has been opened in.

Re the Config file creation perhaps it's made or recreated after everytime the card is formatted or the settings have been altered either by buttons or app.

It would be an added bonus if the app could store the settings.

For testers i know I'm pushing things now but what about multiple versions of settings ie congig1,2,3,....

It could also be useful for people who haven't a clue what settings to use and a kind helper on DCT could create and send them the config file and solve any problems!

It will work in any browser on any OS.
It's "just" a html file.
No installation needed.

That would be very nice and was more or less the reason why I created it.
I want to easily check the settings.

If the function to export the settings is enabled and settings are changed, it will automatically update and write them to the SD card.
No need to manually press export each time.

It's a set-and-forget setting.

Begs the question, why not have it as a default action/write to the SD card anyway, without any user setting interaction…For the few Kb that the Config file may occupy, there’s no harm having it there permanently…. @VIOFO-Support ?

Cool! I noticed a new text file sitting on the SD card, but didn't have the time to poke through it as I was working on something else last night. I'd LOVE to have a copy of your config file reader for my computer! This is one of the most frustrating aspects for me when looking at my videos: "No what were my settings again???" This would remove all of that!

@SC@AU: Super Cool! I'm seeing SEVEN Geofencing options in the screencap you provided!

My exact issue! No more wondering what settings were used.

I will create another thread for it today or tomorrow.
