V2.0 Firmware for Public Testing

Where exactly are the new geofencing settings--in the main list or in a submenu? If in the main menu, following what previous setting?

I wasn't able to find it in either the A329S or A329TC betas and I tried both the beta and current iOS app. Do they only appear when there's an active GPS signal? I'm working in my concrete ground floor bunker, uhhh, garage where there is none.

Also, I'm still having the same issue with the missing fisheye and interior cam IR settings if I use the TC firmware--those only show up in the betas (as with the current public firmware) if I install the S version. My original purchase was a A329S for which I separately then purchased the tele and interior cameras, but I wouldn't think that would make any difference since the main unit is the same and it is just the firmware making it compatible with a particular configuration. I used the correct conversion file in every case. I just rewatched the current conversion how-to video--the only thing I see different than how I've done it is that the video shows no secondary cam(s) attached when the conversion/update is completed. Not sure if that is a factor here for me or not.

I do like the more naturally flowing (to me) settings order in the beta firmware and the beta app feels slightly more responsive and visually better too.

The new beta options are not showing (yet) with the app, atleast the ios app.

But you can set it directly on the dashcam.

AHA! Thank you--as soon as I posted my question, the thought occurred to me that I should have tried directly on the camera.

It seems the ios viofo beta app is missing all the new 2.0 settings.
The beta version of the Viofo app for Android also lacks many of the new settings of firmware version 2.0.

Geofencing settings right in the camera menu as advised 👍

Better still, I finally resolved my issues with the TC firmware after all this time. To date, I have been converting/updating with the two other cams attached, assuming that there may be updates pushed out to those too. I only just noticed today in the Viofo conversion video guide there were no others attached during the update. Lo and behold, the TC firmware now shows the IR and fisheye settings and my tele footage now is properly labeled with the T (whereas with the S firmware it was labeled as R). That's a minor thing since obviously it isn't rear video, but i like things orderly.

After playing around with it, it does seem that the 50m geofencing zone size is our only choice. I very occasionally park at the curb (where I'd want Parking Mode on) instead of the garage and the street in front of my home is still within that circle. No biggie to park further away, just not as convenient. I don't think I want to drive into my backyard 🤣 to shift the circle enough away from the street line.

But I assume it has something to do with the precision of the GPS satellites being used by Viofo (or at least the signal they use--I think such satellites can broadcast multiple signals and those can have differing precision) and the GPS unit itself in the cam mount.

So parking mode resets are corrected even for low power impact detection and hybrid parking mode?
I am running a (potentially older) version of 2.0 and took the cam off the mount today to reattach the CPL. This resulted in my parking mode changing from Hybrid to Off.
I want to check again after downloading this recently posted version.

I have the v2.0_251016 beta firmware installed in a 3-channel A329S with a VIOFO 256 GB memory card. My weekly Friday drive resulted in a very confused A329S coming out of low bitrate parking mode at my third stop along my driving route. There was an impact event shortly before restoring accessory power [when I closed the front door entering the vehicle]. The A329S appeared to have exited low bitrate parking mode [GPS LED was on again], but as it attempted to start normal/driving mode recording, the screen did not turn on and the <beep><beep> warning was heard. I single clicked the <PWR/Menu> button to turn on the screen. There were no warning message(s) on the screen. The <beep><beep> continued until I single clicked the <REC> button when it started recording again. The first, second, and fourth parking mode sessions behaved correctly.

I figured that would not be corrected

About the voltage display in video, @Chuck McCoy is right, this is mainly for malfunction diagnosis.

Actually the camera can support import settings, but we will not offer this feature in the V2.0 version, if someone put some wrong value in the config file, it may cause unexpected behavior.

We are still working on the APP to compatible with the V2.0 version, will be release soon.

We will add an option to let user choose the GeoFencing radius.

About the parking mode reset, we did some testing on our side, like set it for impact mode, then remove the camera from the GPS mount and then power it again with GPS mount attached, the parking mode settings remained.

Booting time will be optimized in V2.1 or later version, we will optimize the A229 Plus, Pro first.

I’ve been crying for an APP Live View Alignment Line for 2 years, 3 months.
You don’t know how thankful, and happy I am. lol

Now I can easily align dash cams in my garage without waiting for the sun to come up, or burning a drop of gasoline, (50% Road & 50% Sky).
That’s what the Blue Painter’s Tape on the garage door / wall represents, (horizon line).
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.

i tested it and it did not.

I am guessing you are turning ignition on before redocking it.

It needs to retain settings with ignition on or off.

Aside for my own, it have been a while since i have seen a thread file.

Unless that horizontal bar/line works as a level, to enable the user to mount the lens parallel to the ground, that horizontal line is essentially useless. Being able to mount parallel is of more value to a user
that has multiple dashcams on the screen, or is mounting at a curvature on the windscreen.

There are no standards or requirements for the screen to be split 50/50 between sky and ground.

100% this. It all comes down to personal preference as to how much of the frame they want to be the sky or the road. Some folks prefer less of the dashboard and some more. It's not a set in stone requirement as Lufa points out.
