A personalized splash screen would be kinda cool. Sure... it only lasts a second or two but it would still be cool.

Yes this would be very cool.
I have asked somebody about this a few days ago.
He says that it would be no Problem to make a personal Bootlogo.

I'll build it for you and others to demonstrate it works in any combination, you then test for function and stability.
updated:
Your Selection of A119S v2.61 > 1080@60fps = 25Mbps + 1080@30fps = 25Mbps + Sharp32 has been created.
Download it from my online Drive folder (( Custom MODs ))

Oh wow, thanks so much! Didn't expect it to be done that quickly.

I'll be doing a bunch of testing on it.

Just uploaded the Edge Detection MODs for A119S.
Video comparisons indicate improved object definition after combining Sharp34+Edge178, Download MOD from (( Stable MODs )) folder.
Seeking A119S owners to flash update FWA119S_MOD-06_v2.61+25Mbps+Sharp34+Edge178+DICE.bin (rename the MOD file to FWA119S.bin).
Review footage for enhanced object definition without halo effect from over-sharpening.
More video quality improvements on the way, Thanks for the support.

Only for 25Mbps version? The 27Mbps version doesn't have these updates?

All Bit Rates supported 27.5 - 15Mbps, started with 25Mbps to attract owners fearing meltdown from 27Mbps.
Try FWA119S_v2.61+25Mbps+Sharp32+Edge168+DICE.bin for a few days, when more feedback supports this combination I'll create full range of Bit Rates.

the rise from 24mbps to 27mbps is just 12%. the camera should be able to handle it without overheating, I think.

I will try it tomorrow. Thank you!

I have more than 4000 miles with the 27.5 Mbps version with no problems. The parking mode doesn't work properly but i don't think that is a heat issue. I just don't use it anymore and it is all good.

agreed, 27Mbps will work, was considering 24Mbps to persuade fence-sitters to actually try this possibly best video image quality firmware modification released so far.
Once my YouTube Edge Detection video comparison is posted here demonstrating the improvement it will gain support. Plan to finish video later today.

Contrast, Saturation, Hue, Brightness, White Balance MODs
>>>>>> working on it <<<<<<

Would be good and make the camera pretty perfect if this is achievable and would be much appreciated.

I did post a sample of lower contrast and a few steps decrease in the saturation and I thought it was perfect. This was done in adobe Lightroom.

Good footage during cloudy day (lower light conditions), looks good with reduced halo but needs more POP!

BCHobyist,
Thanks for doing the work for all the people here.
First time post, but lurked for a while.
I loaded up your FWA119S_v2.61+25Mbps+Sharp32+Edge168+DICE.bin.
Here is a video of the drive home. Over 100* here, almost clear (smoke from the fires)
This is with the CPL. Let me know what you think.

Looks like a lot of compression artefact to me do you have the RAW image?

*EDIT* I downloaded the full video rather than watching it in the player and it looks much better now.

I noticed that as well, and when I played it locally it was fine.
For me its a touch over saturated. The dead lawns and weeds are not that vibrant. but i love the edge. I was able to stop and read several plates while both vehicles are in motion.

Welcome to the DashCamTalk Forum, good to hear from those on the fringe looking in.
Thanks for sharing the RAW footage, It helps all of us to determine the best adjustments. The combination of 25Mbps+Sharp32+Edge168 Modifications do produce a very good image, great job testing my FW MODs.
If possible can you load up a slightly tweaked version >> FWA119S_v2.61+25Mbps+Sharp32+Edge188+DICE.bin

My A119S also suffered from exactly what your Lens displays, The center area is slightly out of focus, probably due to high temps in your region. Review previous clips recorded on cooler days to confirm same center focus issue. Correction is possible with a little guidence, simply pry out glue from Lens barrel threads using needle (hold it as shown in my video, mark current position with whiteout or paint on needle, point Lens away from body) then delicatly turn Lens (holding sensor board firmly) counter-clockwise 0.2-0.4mm. Reassemble and done.

Thanks for the welcome.
I will load up the other firmware tomorrow. I have no footage for a cooler time as it has been well over 100* for the past 30 days.
I will take a look at what footage I do have.
My son has the same setup using 2.4 official.
I will compare to some of his as well.
I will try and record some additional footage.
Interesting about the out of focus. I did not notice it.
I will take a look at your video and see what I can do.

Thanks again.

How to check focus:
Turn on the cold BP to record a static picture, after 30min. stop recording, compare, the first "cold" freeze frame and the last "hot", if the focus floats it will be visible.
