VIOFO Launch Event

I honestly think that with the September event it's just the rumoured four channel T series camera and nothing more.
I wondered that, if "4 new arrivals" means a 4-CH dashcam

What's your issue with the cloud again?
I don’t have an issue with the Cloud, it’s necessary for a bunch of stuff.
Just “Death to VIOFO Cloud” that’s all.
Also, Death to Ensh*ttification 💩💩💩🪠🪠🪠

Sorry for the confusion, what I meant was;
If you can’t use VIOFO Recommended SD Cards, or SSD’s in a VIOFO Dash Cam, what else is there?
Not trying to be repetitive but: "Blackview, Garmin, Nextbase, Redtiger, Thinkware, Vantrue, etc......".

VIOFO is just one of many dash cam brands - and those other brands are nowhere near as limited as to which media works. It's pretty obvious that other manufacturers are able to get their products to work properly using industry standard media where VIOFO has not been able to.

Correct.
But, you’re not mentioning one thing.
All those other brands haven’t been running “high” Bitrates & multi-channel “high” resolution remote cameras.

2019 VIOFO released the first 4K dashcam (A129 Pro Duo) running 65Mbps Bitrate.
2022 VIOFO released the first (2K + 2K) dashcam (A229 Duo IMX335) running 60Mbps total Bitrate.
2023 VIOFO released the first (4K + 2K + 1080p) dashcam (A229 Pro) running 77Mbps total Bitrate.
2024 VIOFO released the first 4K60fps dashcam (A329 2CH) running 98Mbps Bitrate.

2019-2025 no other brand had these high Bitrates & multi-channel high resolution remote cameras.
I can see why VIOFO’s SD Card recommendations are so “strict”.
It wasn’t until September 2025 VIOFO finally got competition from a brand running 85Mbps total Bitrate on a 3CH dashcam, (Vueroid S1-4K).

Viofo would have made life a lot easier for themselves had they done what a lot of their competitors did and moved to HEVC H.265

They did, and it didn't work, (A139 Pro).
It only saved 11% data written to SD Card.
It also increased power consumption, and heat generation.
H.264 vs H.265 Power Consumption & Heat & File Size - Comparison
H.265 was later removed in a firmware update.
H.265 also has compatibility issues.
Death to H.265 💀💀💀☠️☠️☠️
Long live H.264, (until we get AV1 or better).

None of which is necessary for the primary purpose of a dash cam which is to reliably capture video evidence of an event. High bit rate and 4K isn't necessary for that. It's been demonstrated with real world testing that 2K is more than adequate for evidentiary purposes - and 1080 is very acceptable.

Hmmm three years later I'm sure that with newer chipsets in dashcams, circumstances would be far improved. Brands can't all be wrong can they.

Compatibility is universal these days for HEVC, has been for quite a while now. AV1 is going to take longer than HEVC for wider support.

Interesting I only know of 3 of the 4.
Hmmmmm. Maybe one of the other products they are developing are also being released......

Fingers crossed for AI Cloud.

Not so much in USA.
This is how they show video evidence in some courtrooms across America.
They wheel out a TV, pop in a VHS cassette, and push play on a VCR.

This is why Vueroid also chose H.264 instead of H.265 during development of S1-4K, (maximum compatibility).

If H.265 could reduce H.264 file size by 50% I might be convinced.
But at only 11% with greater heat generation & power consumption, no way José.

Some brands just lie.
DDPAI claims their “H.265 saves 30% storage space compared to H.264”
When I tested DDPAI Mini5 there was no reduction in file size with H.265.

Fingers crossed for AI Cloud.
You're gonna drive me to drink 🤣

I've been dying to call you on the telephone, but I don't wanna ruin my predictions, and eventual surprise.
Next year I wanna go back to pre-production testing.

I am pretty sure i know what product 4 is however they have not talked about it for a few months now and I dont want to say anything in case I am wrong.

Didn't others here debunk you on the courtroom and police prosecutors teams a while back? You're making these blind assumptions that they live with decades-old technology when they most likely have the funding to have newer hardware.

And the world is a big place outside of the USA too. DDPAI mini 5 was released nearly five years ago, that's an even worse example than the A139 Pro you gave earlier.

Maybe the 4 is for 4G = Cloud = Mind Blown

Didn't others here debunk you on the courtroom and police prosecutors teams a while back?
Just the opposite.

A lie lasts forever.
And they're still telling the same lie today.

Correct.
But USA is the largest consumer market, with the most $$$ spent on dashcams.
You're making these blind assumptions that they live with decades-old technology when they most likely have the funding to have newer hardware.
Our law enforcement, criminal justice system, civil courts, and government employees are a delicate balance of incompetence, and corruption.
I was one of 'em 🤣
Funding will always be there, and it will always be misspent.
