Viofo T130 3 Channel Dashcam - 2K Front + FHD Interior + FHD Rear

@Nigel,

Does the front unit (interior lens) pivot up and down and to the left? Or is it only able to be pivoted left?

Interior cam can swivel out about 90 degrees and can rotate up and down to certain degrees.

Yes, horizontal and vertical, with a CV joint type movement rather than ball and socket.

Could I ask you post an interior view of your car. I am wondering how the single integrated Front + Rear lens compared to the A139 interior view.

For instance, this is the A139 interior view of my car...(Had to Crop some Junk out I had in Back..So Ignore the Dark Shading).

How does the T130 Interior Camera compare to the A139 Interior Viewing Angle?

Hey wales is pretty! I've visited Snowdonia before. But ya, even if they were speaking English (and not welsh) doubt I could understand them anyway LOL!
They have big wide roads up in Snowdonia! (relatively big 😉)
Also a different accent and dialect, the radio accents were from the south west.

Here is a bit more video, a mix from the lowlands to the mountain tops of mid-west Wales, with some frame grabs first...

Usk, lodgings for humans and horses, although the bell is more likely to work for mountain bikes these days!

The sheep carry on for far more than 4 miles, maybe that is the county boundary and they don't matter after that?

Bike is a little motion blurred! We are in a dark tree tunnel, so the blur is not only from his speed. Hard to tell it is dark from the image other than from the motion blur.

How does the T130 Interior Camera compare to the A139 Interior Viewing Angle?
Basically they give very similar views, but I might leave it to someone else to actually measure the difference, because I currently have my A139 camera looking directly at the drivers door with the T130 looking diagonally at the passenger door, so images from them are not comparable. Even if I turned them both to point rearward, which is not so easy on the A139, the A139 is at the top of the windscreen and the T130 at the bottom, so the T130 is a lot further forward and can see the whole of both front door windows but has difficulty seeing over the front seats, while the A139 interior camera which is mounted on the interior lamp housing is far enough back that it can't see any of the front door windows, but would have a great view of all the rear seats and a good view out the rear side windows, if it wasn't facing sideways! Surprisingly the T130 actually when pointed diagonally towards the side window has a reasonable view out of both front and rear side windows from its position, basically mounted in the front centre of the dashboard, although it is actually stuck to the bottom of the glass.

My A139 interior cam is mounted at the very top of the windshield near the headliner. Giving me the view I posted here. So with an integrated fromt + rear Setup, you think the T130 would do a similar viewing angle?

You would probably mount it with the interior lens further forward, so get more of the front windows, but it does depend somewhat on the layout of the car. You would also probably mount it lower, so be less able to see over the front seats into the rear seats, but your headrests seem to be blocking the full height anyway so that may not make much difference.

Sort of...The alternative is going down a mountain embankment. Visited years ago, but typical Wales weather LOL. Rain and Fog. Never Sunshine.

See, two full lanes!
(Yes, I know the lanes are not very wide, but there are clearly two of them.)

And the same Welsh weather I see 🙂 That is why we need high sensitivity sensors in our dashcams!

Those mountains are younger, so taller and sharper (when you can see them), made during the Ordovician geological period which was named after the local tribe for the area.

Here's how I have my A129 and A139 Mounted: And the view the A139 gives me out the sides of my car.

I think I would move the A139 interior camera to be mounted on the black plastic almost exactly centre bottom of that image, would have a better view of the windows from that angle, although moving it onto the glass below the sensor pod would move it even further forward and get more of the front side windows in the image.

If you had a T130 then maybe stick it about where your A129 lens is, or possibly under the sensor pod, depending on what is at the bottom.

I tested placing A139 under the black Lidar Sensor plastic casing, and it didn't give a good viewing angle out of the windows. I wanted a 360 view of the interior and out the side windows. So I could see if anyone hits my car while parked or if say someone walks up to my window. I favored the driver's side of course a little over passenger.

Attempting to put camera on black plastic resulted in the mirror obstructing the view.

The way my setup is now, the A129 gets a very good view of the left side of the car blindspots. The A139 a very good view of the right side of the car blindspots. With both overlapping in providing a good forward view. The Interior Camera a pretty decent 360 degree view of the vehicle.

The seats and headrests sit high, making it very hard to get a complete 360 degree view though. Those seats make getting a proper interior angle very hard.

I like that you can control the IR cam modes by pressing the wifi button instead of going thru the app like the A139 or the settings menu of A129.
On A139, you can short press power button to disable / enable IR LEDs.

However, the only way to set to "Auto" is to enter wifi by long pressing wifi, enter the app, and set to Auto.

On the T130, a short press of the wifi button cycles through IR Off | On | Auto, with voice confirmation of the selection, no need for the app.

Viofo is claiming (even after I emailed them yesterday) and they posted here they wanted more testers, supposedly all the supply is gone. At least that's what I got in an Email From Sylvia Guo. I contacted Viofo via DashCamTalk. We'll see what they say. Not holding my breath!

Apparently, when I buy the A139 at full price, I'm somehow still a "Beta Tester" telling them their flaws that need sorted (overheating, corrupted last file, etc)....That OTHER testers didn't catch! I would have Been happy to try the T130 side by side to the A139 in order to see how the T130 handled. Oh well.

They wanted to offer me a 20% discount on the future purchase of a T130. Ya no thanks. Hard pass..... I already own the A139 that needs resolved and would be redundant to the T130.

My Thoughts.

Product Sample = Happy to test and put through the paces.
I pay Full Price Retail Product = Not thrilled at being a Product Tester. Should work out of box.

Viofo also posted in Facebook looking for T130 testers. So I think it's not only here in DCT. Maybe that's why the supply is gone so fast.

And Twitter, and in the past they have posted in other places too.

If they do have some left, they are probably looking for unusual people now, such as taxi drivers living north of the Arctic Circle!
So if you live in unusual circumstances, such as on the ISS, or have an unusual vehicle, such as Elon Musk's Starship, probably still worth applying...
