Vueroid S1 4K Infinite 3CH - 4K+1080p+ 2K Unboxing, First Impressions & Testing

I know.
I do not think it is a matter of the amount of light, my H4 55 W bulbs are plenty strong i think, but the light from them in low beam only go into the other lane up to 5 M or so in front of the car, i simply can not capture plates with S1pro Max or T 800.
But if i put on high beam and adjust those all the way down so i at least do not fry the retina on oncoming drivers i am catching plates just fine, even have several frames to choose from, Okay the light of the high beam are stronger alright, but i think more important it is thrown into the oncoming lane some 15 M and further out ahead.

If i was younger and more fit i would load several 100 kilos of stuff into the boot of my car to get the low beams higher up to test if that made a change.

That is too much work for us old men. Just install one of those lowrider hydraulic lift systems; you will be able to jack that front end up to whatever height you want. 🙂

Perhaps you should take your car to a shop to have your headlights checked and adjusted...
I used to take my cars in for headlight adjustments every fall, but for the past five years, my main cars have had automatic headlight adjustments.

Hehe yeah that would be nice, but baggin a car is not legal here, really you can only change the ride height with a few mm up / down.

Also good laugh here watching police TV programs and them say stopping a tuned moped that do 60 km/h or a moped with 2 people on it, and the cop say " these mopeds are not build for that "
But YES they are, they sell the same mopeds in other countries going much faster then the 30 km/h limit here, and also OK for 2 people CUZ i refuse to believe they put a special weaker motor on it or special for Denmark weaker brakes.
The 50 CC motors here are usually plugged on the intake side, and karburator might have a smaller hole ASO, all things any Danish kid know to remedy.

I have severe issues paying for ignorance ( at best ) with my tax.

My headlights are ok, i have just put them on, it is the 3 pair on my car as they die fairly quick, plastics turning opaque and crack.

Adjustment should be fine, at least it was after biannual inspections of other i have put on the car, they check that every time.

but for the past five years, my main cars have had automatic headlight adjustments.
They still can be adjusted manually to have the correct base height. The load depending adjustment will be made by the car.

Perhaps you should take your car to a shop to have your headlights checked and adjusted...
+1

The S1 4K is able to easily capture plates at day and night. Very impressive performance from the front and rear.
Daytime footage with "Normal" mode could use a bit more saturation in my opinion. It does sometimes look very flat compared other dashcams.

The S1 4K did not have any issues so far since it was installed.

The S1 4K does have a front facing white status LED.
Here is what it looks like:

The LED will either blink or be dimmed depending on the situation.

It can also be turned off in the settings.

The LED can be a subtle way to inform others that a camera is recording and not to do something stupid.
Especially in parking mode it could be useful as a warning.

The white LED is very noticeable when parked at night - I haven't made my mind up whether I like that or not.

I'm not sure why we need an exterior-facing LED to blink when upgrading the firmware, or if there's a microSD card error? Surely the notification on the interior display is enough, combined with an audible alert. I suppose there's a chance of getting out of the car, glancing over at the camera and noticing the LED flashing to say there's a card problem.

Personally, I don't like anything that attracts attention.
So I disabled the external LED and painted over the "Vueroid" text on the GPS Module. 😉

It can have advantages and disadvantages.
The current Tesla models will flash their lights if one is too close to one for a specific period of time. It's a good way of saying "you are being watched". Same applies to the S1 4K. People are made aware of it.

But on the other side it can also be an advantage to quietly record what's going on without showing any obvious signs.

Luckily the user can select what he wants to use.

Same thoughts here.
I wouldn't need those things to be displayed in the front.

The LED serves a purpose for some people. If it were removed, then someone would complain it was not there—the nature of the beast, I suppose. I leave that Security LED off as I don't want it blinking — personal choice — but I sure am not going to advise VUEROID to remove it, as other users prefer it. Unless I am testing something, I leave all LED and voice notifications off. I do think the front-facing logo on the GPS module is a bit much, but I am not much for displaying a logo on anything, to be honest. Blacking it out, as Karagandinez has done, is the best solution. Even on a redesigned GPS module housing, I expect there will be a logo.

As for the S1 4K being stealthy, it's impossible on my Outback. New windshield, with clear glass and no tint, any item hung on the glass, including the rear-view mirror, stands out. I have made it a point to look at windshields in parking lots, on the road, and when stopped at traffic lights. I can see them all clearly, even looking from the rear glass towards the front. Unless mounting on the frits at the very top, achieving stealth is very difficult. Because of that, the white Security LED blinking at least lets a potential idiot know they are being watched.

A small little detail that's worth mentioning is that the Vueroid S1 4K does support PD and QC protocols when powered with USB-C.
Many dashcam don't even power up when trying to use a modern fast charger.

This is very useful for adjusting or checking things out of the car.

thank you for reveiwing /sharing this detailed part. when we designed the S1 usb-c port interface, we had considered this point. (I'm engineer of Vueroid, role as CTO)

Seems like it could unnecessarily create a glare on the front windshield, too. Would recommend there be a setting to disable rear LED from the photo posted by @Julian23

I have not observed the white LED reflecting off the windshield and affecting the video recording at night, however not all cars are the same so it remains a possibility.

Not sure what you mean by 'rear LED'? The exterior-facing white LED can be disabled in the settings. The row of three status LEDs under the display screen can also be disabled, in parking mode or completely.

Good!

It's a small feature but I like it very much. Please keep this for any future models!
I'm also surprised that this wasn't mentioned before by anyone else that I'm aware of.

I checked footage in very dark environments. No glare can be seen in the video.
As Tony already said, you can disable the LED in the menu if you don't like it.

Translation:
"
Wow, it captures license plates well. What's the name of the technology that makes license plates more visible? It feels the same as Vantrue's PlatePIX.
I can see it on my car's 70mai X800, Vantrue E1 Pro, VIOFO A229Pro, and RTC300, but it seems to be even more visible.
However, for this technology to work, the license plate must be illuminated by another vehicle, and there must be no tinting... It seems like a very complicated technology.
Great review!"
The settings I used above are with HDR enabled during the night. Normal mode was used for daytime. IPC was not yet used.
The S1 4K captures plates at a very good level.
Good lighting is important to have a good capture. With the car that I'm using the lights have a good brightness and also have a good beam pattern that allows any dashcam to perform as good as possible.

Glad to hear you like my review so far.🙂
