Xiaomi Mijia Car DVR Dashcam (Mstar MSC8328P, Sony IMX323) [GearBest.com]

I'm trying to get in touch with Mi's support guys, byt it's a big pain, WHERE do I go?!?!?

All sites are in English and wherever I knock, nobody home....

Is this the great Xiaomi customer support? Not cool....

Yeah,xiaomi support is not cool lately.
I have Xiaomi Yi action camera,Mijia Dash cam,Xiaomi redmi note 4G,Xiaomi Mi5S,Power bank,Redmi note 4X....
But i think i am gonna switch to another brand.Xiaomi brand is not so cheap anymore.
 
Well I gotta be honest, I was reluctant in buying this camera, for that reason, I had bad experience with a Xiaomi Android phone I bought a few years back, but this MIJIA camera was so cheap, and since it has good credentials, I thought to have another go, hoping the service was most likely better, but hélas...

Nevertheless I still think it has good potential, if they (or anyone else for that matter) provide English menu, brighter night recording (they are deliberately bringing the brightness down too far, it's just too stupidly dark!), and provide more of the settings that are in the firware into the English app (BTW Why the frack provide the app in English, and at the same time refusing to make the f/w in English? I just don't get that!)

I suspect there is no (or very weird) light metering going on, it just makes no sense, AT ALL!

How will they provide better service and products if they DON'T LISTEN to their "Esteemed Customers"? Why use the word "friend" if they don't care AT ALL???

Weird and BAD attitude, that's for sure.

IF ANYONE CAN TELL ME HOW TO GET IN CONTACT WITH THE RIGHT PEOPLE OVER THERE, PLEASE SPEAK UP!!!

when it comes to their phones, they do beta testing of firmware updates where you can leave feedback in the comments or through the phone itself - has been that way for years. i have had the Redmi Note 3 and now using Mi Max as daily driver, and no issues (except crap camera but then i have dedicated Canon for that purpose anyway). they are slow on OS updates, but at least they keep MIUI updated for years upon years.

anyways, when it comes to their non-phone products, the only way to contact them is to find the company who actually makes the dash camera for them. I know it's FIMI for their 4K drone and 4K action camera, but not sure who it is for this dash camera. Hopefully they have contact channels on Facebook or some forum somewhere, but other than that its out of luck :(

Great camera, and I like it a lot!

But it has strange bug! Slowing dow/non responsive/freeze when card gets full. Something wrong with the loop video function!

AND it really NEEDS MORE F/W FEATURES!!

- ENGLISH FIRMWARE

- BRIGHTER NIGHT RECORDINGS
It is simply too dark, and it CAN do better, because we see the camera recording very bright in the first second of the start of the video, then the image goes dark!!! WHY??!?!?

- MORE SETTINGS: EXPOSURE, METERING (Average/center/spot), SATURATION, CONTRAST

- APP NEEDS TO SHOW _ALL_ FUNCTIONS, NOT ALL CAMERA FUNCTIONS IN THE APP.

I use 64GB now w/o ANY problems now, I guess the Mijia just don't like 128GB, I've actually seen the info about the sd card support, 64GB max... Hahaha should have looked closer. It is a bit of a bummer, but with 64gb I can just do it, however I would like the 128 better...

Am I correct to say that with these commands any app developer can make one for this Mijia camera? Cause, you know, that would be awesome....!

commands are standard for firmware, some do not work

Now what is odd, you can find that videoclip size and looping size is set to 5 minutes, but it in fact loops 2 minutes.

And then there's HDR setting, obviously it is OFF, I'll bite and set that to ON somewhere this weekend, will let you guys know what happens.... Fingers crossed....
 
OK, trying to set HDR ON and Spotmeter ON,

http://192.72.1.1/cgi-bin/Config.cgi?action=set&property=HDR&value=ON
http://192.72.1.1/cgi-bin/Config.cgi?action=set&property=SpotMeter&value=OFF

results in these messages:

Invalid state

However, http://192.72.1.1/cgi-bin/Config.cgi?action=set&property=SoundIndicator&value=on

results in

0
OK

and at status update it indeed shows the status of SoundIndicator has changed, so the way to do it is OK and correct, just sems to not change all values, the HDR and Spotmeter functions are just not there, or blocked....

Me sad..... :(
