Xiaomi Yi Firmware Caution

I downloaded all version of the firmwares, by making some "fake" serial numbers;)

The Yi Cam firmware 1.0.12 MD5 check sum is the following:
Code:
MD5 CHECK SUM FIRMWARE BIN FILEE (FILE SIZE )
baec4ec5e6f8ba1a9e165f33214df54c --> 1431352707958_fw(Z22L).bin (45,910,016)
9f0d95775e0f6529ffc18f4688dca1e8 --> 1429784261317_fw(Z23L).bin (42,629,120)

Your Z23L file is incomplete... Too bad you didn't notice and didn't provide the correct MD5, that way i would know if the Z23L 1.0.12 is the same as for Z22L, bcs for 1.1.0 is.

Sorry, my Yi Cam is Z221 ... so ...
But anyway, now this firmware is out of date.

Yes, it is, but some ppl are preferring this, since (apparently) 1.1.0 is freezing the camera from time to time.

I'm not sure now can get the old firmware of Z23L again. so I can not verify the firmware MD5. I just modify the MD5, mark "maybe wrong"

mark it definately wrong, check the size, only that one is off. Firmware releases have same size

Downloaded FW 1.2.0 "23L" from Xiaomi web page , after installing in camera it shows FW 22L in CC.
Same with downloading from android apk.
Anyway it works in model 23L with harDware 23L

23L and 22L have identical firmware.

There are actually two groups of HW revs and you can safely use firmwares for different model within the group:
1: Z221, Z231, Z23A, Z23S
L: Z22L, Z23L

So basically, if you have L model, you can use either 22L or 23L firmware, if you don't, you can use all other firmwares, except L :)

After upgrading to version 1.2 , the camera is turned very bad. It constantly freezes . Serial number Z23L **** Return to the previous firmware fixes the problem .

I have a lot of freezes with 1.2, not good. Will down grade as well.

Thanks

I noticed a peculiar thing:

I downloaded the 1.2.6 FW for my new Z23L from the xiaomi site last night, before they updated the changelog. The file name was 1436435831471_fw.bin. MD5 hash is the same as listed on @Andy_S site.

This morning I checked the newly posted changelog on the xiaomi site, but I noticed the file name was changed. Now it's 1436498699300_fw.bin, but the MD5 hash is the same.

Is it common for the file name to change without the content changing? Is the "Signature=/...=" part of the download link xiaomi provides relevant to the file content? @Andy_S: do you generate the MD5 hash yourself or is there a way to get it from xiaomi?

I have 23L yi: is it without RC filter?
Also I downloaded firmware 1.2.6 from xiaomi site.
After updating I read in the exif data of the pictures taken by yi: software version 1.0.000.
Is that normal or I did something wrong in updating?

I think so. But you can check.

that is normal

Thanks.
I suppose the IRC filter should be at the bottom of the tube supporting the lenses in front of the image sensor.
In the case there is no filter the lenses should be IRC coated. Is it correct?
Is there any differences in terms of image results whether the lenses are IRC coated or there is a filter?

fuyghjb, Thank you very much for clarifying.

So it would be better to avoid the 23L.
I would need 6 yi cams for a rig: I am wondering whether it is possible to specify in the order I do not want 23 or 22 L.
Does the numbers 22, 23 refer to period of release, i.e. 23S being the newest?

I would try to test this lens:
http://www.megapixellenses.com/sell-2357489-1-2-3.html

but I do not know whether they fit on yi.

In 22l 23l lens with great quality of image , image in details looks better than from other yi lens. It just dont have this irc filter .
One of other lens install on yi with irc

I have a 23Lyi.
I got pictures with flares in front of sunlight.
Here 3 samples:
http://www.lingua.it/imgyicam.html

I cleaned the lens.
I do not know if it is normal or it is caused by any damages on my lens.
Any hints?

as i know and from my experiance, that is normal.. it happens in certain situations, and can happen from street light or moon.. ofcourse sun also.. so I dont see a problem with that
