Short and simple test between the Git1 and the Git2
Both look very good, The Git1 seems to have a bit more dynamic range, while the Git2 has better (higher) color saturation. Both cameras where on "stock" setting, both at 1080p @ 30fps. WDR was OFF, WB: auto, Wide FOV.
 
What do you mean by more dynamic range ???

More details in regard to highlights or low lights (shiny objects and dark shadows). It hard to see it on YouTube as the compression is really heavy and distorts image quality greatly.

My question is: why I want to destroy the image quality of my video? Just to add some fade or titles? Because for cut and join I can use other tools which are not re-encoding the video.

Thanks for looking into it Mtz.

GoPro Studio re-encodes everything into a cineform codec between "Step 1: View & Trim" and "Step 2: Edit" in order to make editing and previewing easier. I'm wondering if you're selecting the "high quality" import setting under the advanced settings tab in the lower right corner when you're first in Step 1: View & Trim. Step 3: Export would also have to be keyed at the highest quality too.

I am not professional for editing the video, so I just did cutting and join.
Converted it to the .AVI format before upload to Youtube.

High quality was used, saved as avi and the bitrate was 450 Mbps and a 20 sec. of video is 1GB. At this bitrate and size why not saving as uncompressed?
I can encode with better quality than GoPro Sudio using a much smaller bitrate with the free X264 and here is the same sample encoded with just 10 Mbps compared to 450 Mbps:

When watching as movie is impossible to see the differences and my encoded video have about 3 times smaller bitrate than original video and 45 times smaller than GoPro Studio encoding bitrate.

Hi,

Yes, I used the Git2.

I had it on default settings, unless sharpness=soft isn't the default for photos, I think it is. Normally I use average metering, but these used the default centre metering.

With it being on soft sharpening, the camera doesn't actually do any sharpening so for night images you really want to do some yourself, I used Paint Shop Pro for a couple of gentle unsharp masks with different radus settings, just to remove any fuzziness. For the small embedded images, I resized them first and then did the sharpening, that gives better results than sharpening and then resizing. The resize was to exactly 1/4 size.

The smaller snow globe image also has the contrast increased a little, the full size images and both polar bear images are unchanged apart from the sharpening.

Is there a way to reduce the fish eyes effect on the picture and videos?
 
A few more tests with the Git1 and the Git2, now with Gyro and 60 fps. Video from the Git1 was also encoded to 60 (2x30).
Both cameras are fixed on the same pole / selfie stick. The slight image movement between the two side by side images is due to manual syncing of the files using an audio key.

Can you recommend another free or low cost mp4 video editing program?
 
may i know who using a VR box (with phone) to live feed the drone/etc. ?
any software to recommend ? thank you.
 
it is a know fact that the gitup serie cam can take all the adapter of the gopro , But I want to know if the adapter the request internal modification also work like.

Changing the lens for a gopro one that reduce the fish eye with a lower fov? I like the idea of 170 deg but don t like the result
the back-bone ribcage( catclaw chinese clone) that let you change the lens with a ( c mount lens ? like a dslr)
does this kind of mode will need a firmware update and does they can fit the gitup cam???

also , does a firmware can help to remove the fish eye effect without changing the fov ? I know there is some editing software that can remove it but not all of them can do the job .
