date/time set to default when changing battery

but he is on 1.3 and I am no 1.5, so why should it be a fw problem.
looks more like a general problem, that after x months the RTC battery dies...

no point in reporting issues on an old firmware, IMHO. i'll update to 1.5 or 1.6b later on... i'm using my work pc right now and they're really locking down security and practically criminalizing connecting anything besides mouse/keyboard via USB. i mean, i've read some of the articles about various compromises coming in that way, but if you can't trust your own IT staff (which includes me), who can you trust? if i get fired for that, i'll be sure to buy the security guy a restaurant-sized roll of tin foil and a book on how to make paper hats.

No response or fix yet. Hope the new camera from @gitup will have a better solution for the internal battery. I like the Gitup Git2 camera, but the date time set to default when changing battery problem is annoying.

We are waiting for testing result from @Tungsten E2 .

gitup provided me with replacement capacitor. as i do not have proper smd soldering equipment i need to find somebody to help me.
btw the new capacitor is smaller than the original.

just talked to a smd soldering specialist i know. he refuses to change the capacitor. risk is to high to damage the board.

as gitup confirmed that this issue is covered by warranty i will contact the service for replacement

I have the small ones of the mini battery battery in mine git2, loses time and date aswell, just removed the tiny screw and put the camera in charger.. I hope it will help!

Did not fix my problem.. Loses date and time :(

If you connect the power bank while changing the battery, it should be no problem.

The issue someone reported before due to the screw issue which near the small capacitor battery which hold the date/time, user remove that screw to solve this issue.
Isn't the purpose of that capacitor to hold the date/time while the owner changes the battery?

Is there any news regarding changing the battery? I have the same problem...

1. removing the screw did not help (small battery)
2. charging only whith USB did not help.
3. firmware downgrade from 1.5 to 1.4 did not help
4. new battery did not help
Yes the only way to maintain the date/time is power the cam with USB power-nuisance! Mine loses the setting in seconds! With power on -no loss!

Are you working for a government agency or contractor ? I saw taboos on any hardware especially flash drives before I retired from an Air Force base, but HRC found a way around security!

I have used strong light and a 10x magnifier and found " light years " of resistance between that screw and the button cell!!
If it is intended to maintain your date/time the engineer ought to be shown the way out!

To replace the capacitor will solve the issue, but it is not easy for everyone to do this.
We have solution to check this before assemble while in production.

Is it possible that the cathode side is not in contact with the circuit board? If I pry up slightly on the contact, will it solve the issue?

I have a problem. The date and time resets if your remove the battery. I checked the capacitor. (rechargeable battery). It is damaged. I am looking for it to buy. I have a question for you. Is it a capacitor or rechargeable battery? What kind? What is capacity mF or battery mAh etc? Where can I buy it?
How long it keeps settings when device Git2 works properly?
