firmware 6.08

I'll double check mine but I'm sure I have the flip option on and it's working for me (unless my camera is the right way up!)

turn flip off and see if it goes the other way then you'll know if your flip setting works or not

try RESET DEFAULTS and power off then REAR CAM FLIP again?
It's working now, shame on me that I didn't think about that ๐Ÿ˜€

EDIT: But I've found another bug: "RESET DEFAULTS" does not reset the "ROTATE CAMERA 180ยฐ" setting

I was going to say mine works fine - the new firmwares do seem to change some settings to defaults apart from the date / time ๐Ÿ™‚

Upgraded anyway so just waiting for some beer to arrive before I can go for a drive ๐Ÿ™‚

@Rayman.Chan Unfortunately it freezed again after booting up and didn't record any video files (it happened again after a rather short ride). This time I captured video evidence as soon as I recognized that it had locked up.

I have been driving 5 minutes and 10 seconds (this was recorded without any problems) to the next shop to buy some food and on my way home I recognized that it didn't start recording. Also, the last two log-files (during the lock-ups) contain many chunk characters instead of spaces like the other log files (attached)
Also this is spammed to the log very often:
Code:
[31mERR:drv_setIstEvent() TIMER losing event [0x00001000]
[0m[31mERR:drv_setIstEvent() TIMER losing event [0x00001000]
[0m
C0A10080 : 00000000 07800780 00000000 00000000 ...............

Have you seen my bug report regarding missing video files?

Hi Tobi,
for your two bugs:
1, no video files when 2nd stop ---- we surmise they are overwrited because there are some delete action in log but which files are not shown, and the debug log file will not be deleted that is why there is log but no video; so we will add "**** file deleted" information in next firmware, hope that will help to find out what happened. (maybe released tomorrow or next Monday)
2, 30minutes recording in 5 minutes ---- from the log there show everything normally, can you help to check the files, if they are normal in playback?
3, the loged time is not same as fact ---- the loged time is GMT time, you need to add the timezone setting to get the local time (same as file time)

to all,
the next version will be gamma version which we will use in new cycle FULL TEST from next monday, to avoid cross mess; that version will be very close to the formal release (production) version; if you have other comments/suggestions, please let we know, better on this weekend.
Thanks

Tobi, we are checking your new submit

2: the playback speed is fine, the increased time inside the log was just something I've detected when I had a look at the logs. There are no files with increased speed ๐Ÿ™‚
3: I see, to prevent overwriting of files with the same name, I think an incremental number in the file name would be a good idea? like "000001_20170609_133641A.MOV"
There already is some kind of number at the end of the file name at the moment, but it is not incremental from what I can see

Tobi, may i know your firmware version?

tobi, please check mail. it is easier to send image

Did not receive an email, yet. May take some time I guess

do you have the log on 10:54 as your video shown

Yeah, already replied there, just takes some time ๐Ÿ™‚

That freeze you got Tobias look like the ones i also get some times, but it is very random when it happen here, can be days and many 100 driven Km in between.
I click of the cameras reset button make it work again.

I have tried flicking the camera and what little wire i have exposed near it to see if i could provoke a new freeze that way, but that have not worked at all.

Unfortunately mine kept freezing even after mutliple resets (can be seen in the video). It started working again after it lost power and the caps were fully discharged

Also Rayman informed me that using the reset button ("frequently") while a rear cam is connected is not recommended

Okay.

I have just reset mine 3 times, 2 times on the computer table and then one time in the car last time it locked up.

It's with bended neck I have to write this:depressed:.

The problem with the "last file no save" was due to that I use a low quality usb cable:banghead: from my USB power distribution. I can get 2.4 amp from that port and in total 120W output, so plenty power from the unit.
The cable is just on the lower edge of what 906 can run with.
I use now the provided cable and it work perfect๐Ÿ™‚.

I have still problem with last file not getting saved.

Update on heat test in the car.

Outside temperature 27C
My dashboard measured to 85C and the camera was 63C outside to start with.
The read out from the camera was 63C, Perfect. Screen saver set to 15sec.
I started to drive as I do normal with AC on, to see if I will get a shutdown.
The max temperature measured was 79C and no shutdown.

On coming Monday we should get 35C here and I will report how the cam will handle this.

the power lead supplied with 0906 is a high quality & full EMC compliant charger we developed ourself, it is not the same level with many other cigar chargers on market.

0906 consume 700mA constant current so you need to use a certain power supply for it.

do you have the log file when the last lock up?
it is in Novatek/log folder.
