VIOFO A329S - Testing/Review - RCG

That is not a car but a dashcams exhibition. I can't imagine that somebody is driving a car like that.

What if @Vueroid S1 4K 3CH also supports optional 2K telephoto camera?
I think that would make @KR_OGU very happy, (also me).

Nobody has seen that camera yet, nobody knows if it will exist, it would come from a company that has no history of producing the world's best dashcam, in fact they have only ever manufactured one dashcam in the past, and that has not won many reviews. Maybe it will appear in a few months time and comparisons can be made, but at this stage, answering that question is going to be no more accurate than predicting the outcome of a Kickstarter dashcam, promises to be the best in the world, but if/when it arrives... nobody knows!

That is extremely inaccurate Nigel. You should visit the Vueroid site and look to see just what they sell consumer and commercial wise. Also know that @Vueroid produces dash cams and electronics for other companies. In regards about not manufacturering 'the world's best dashcam', that is a pure bias and very limited world view you have. I have $650 USD of VIOFO A229 Pro cameras that after about 16 months are too heat sensitive to use in anything other than 1 channel mode.

VUEROID hopes to be the standard for simple, reliable, connected, and powerful dash cams that feature Wi-Fi connectivity for the easy setup and management of videos through smartphones, in addition to its popular advanced Parking Mode monitoring.

Current D40 uses a proprietary SoC?
For the S1, they have said they are going to use Novatek, why?

We will see soon enough, when the camera arrives, then we can judge.
Making a judgement now seems a little premature to me, there is very little to base the judgement on, other than the reputations of Novatek and Sony, but it needs more than great components to make a great dashcam, as has been seen in many Kickstarter projects!

The Viofo A329S on the other hand is already in the hands of some reviewers, judgements have been made, but currently embargoed...

@Nigel ... and your point being what? You can troll a thread? Standard fare for you. You still miss the fact concerning the size of NC&, the fact they have made dash cameras and other optical devices for a number of years, for a number of companies.

You still miss the fact concerning the size of NC&,
What fact? Can you give us the numbers?

The link you posted is our official distributor in Australia.
We have granted them the authority to use the brand in Australia specifically.

NC& is a group company consisting of NC& and Nextchip.
Nextchip is a subsidiary of NC&, and our offices and R&D departments are adjacent on the same floor of one of the buildings in Pango, Seongnam.
The total number of employees is about 350 as of now, with approximately 70% to 80% being engineers.
NC& was founded in 1997, making it a nearly 30-year-old company.
Both NC& and Nextchip are listed on the Korean stock market.
Can this short introduction serve as the answer?

Can this short introduction serve as the answer?
The real answer comes when you release the S1. You clearly have a lot of expertise in ADAS camera design between NC& and Nextchip, so your S1 is going to be an interesting dash camera, but you are entering a new market area, and it is not clear where your place is in that market. I assume you are not intending to enter with the very best premium dashcam ever, taking the lead over Blackvue, Thinkware, Nextbase, Viofo with the world's best dashcam of 2025? Some people appear to be expecting that...

It could be one of the opinions.
Anyone can express any opinion, and I respect that.
There will be no change; we will do our best, and I know that my team has demonstrated their performance in the harshest market.
The result will come when the S1 is launched.
Please do not expect anything more than what you will see.

Love to see your post, Nigel.

Some daytime frame grabs from the A329S front/rear camera. The A329S front camera has a CPL filter installed, but the rear camera does not have a CPL filter. HDR is enabled for both the front and rear cameras since its the default setting and the other cameras I had in the car also have HDR enabled.

When I get my other car back from the repair shop [the shop says tomorrow], I'll get the A329S installed with a 3-channel configuration.

It looks like they finally fixed the size of the text stamp on the front 4K camera.
The basic camera is already working, because it is the same as the 2 channel, so this time they can put more effort into fixing the less important things and adding less important features. Normally when they release something new, everything is different, even the cables, so they spend all the effort on the basics!

I've been asking since the A129 Pro. lol
Thank you @viofo

Text was never broken, so did not need fixing. Matter of opinion if it is too small or too large, personal preference. Nothing more than a vanity request by you, better things for VIOFO to focus on.

I agree. There's much more important features or technology that a company could focus on, rather than the incessant demands by a single user on a forum.

We all have suggestions at what a company could do or should do better, but that's exactly what it is - suggestions. Demands that don't take into account what a company has to do to accommodate the widest user base, are incredibly myopic at best and at worst, insulting.

One of the new features for the A329S/A329T is the new multiplexer feature. It allows you to combine the camera feeds into one video file.

From the A329S firmware you'll see this new video setting:

The next two multiplexed video examples are from when I still had the A329T firmware installed into my test unit.

Here's a frame grab from a 7860x2160 30fps resolution video file that combines the front and rear camera video files into one "F"ront video file.

Here's a frame grab from a 3840x3240 30fps resolution video file [in my office, not the car] that combines the front, telephoto [or interior], and rear camera video feeds into one file.

I hope everyone has their 8K TV/Monitors ready, for watching at the new resolutions 😎

Here are two of the raw video files that I used to obtain the frame grabs from in a previous post.

So...is it two 4k videos at 8K size on a monitor, or is it two 8K videos on a monitor?
