VIOFO A329T 3-Channel Telephoto Dashcam - 4k+2k+2k - Unboxing, First Impressions & Testing Europe

Well...pooh! 🙂 Thanks to all for the answers about the Main, Interior, and Telephoto combo not being hardware possible. I wonder if this is a hardware limitation, or if there is a Firmware solution possible. The M,I,T option is what I am really after. Having a Telephoto on the A229 Pro has spoiled me. Perhaps the yet to be released "A229 Ultra", or what ever its name will be, will have a M,I,T capability?

@viofo @VIOFO-Support is it possible to have main camera, interior and telephoto?
Instead of a rear?

The rear camera works on any port, but the telephoto only works on interior port.
Is this hardware limitation, or could it be opened up with a firmware revision?

There goes my hopes of having an A329TT (front + rear telephoto)
You need a "rear telephoto" - a special version that plugs into the rear camera port, then it works fine, you can have 2 telephotos if you want.

Let's just wait a few hours until Viofo can reply here.
They should be able to give the best and most accurate answer.

It's interesting that the waterproof camera and also the normal rear camera work on every port but the others don't.
I wonder why.

The waterproof camera is a rear one, just waterproof version.
It's also sold as an A329WW (double waterproof) which is effectively 2 X rear cameras that can be put anywhere on outside of vehicle.
That's why that works on any port currently.

Are the new rear cam vents real? Because I’ve seen people saying the vents on the new rear are fake and just to make it the same case as the tele which has real vents. I am asking because the 2-CH A329S still got the “old” rear with no vents and CPL-500. I asked customer service but they said the hardware between the new and old rear are the same.

Yes, it is possible. Please wait for a few weeks, we will offer this bundle on the official site, and we need to release a new FW for this bundle.

Whats the body dimensions on the exterior cams?

Yes they are indeed real!
If you take a look at the pictures on the first page you will see it as the light shines through them.

The telephoto camera can be disabled in parking mode to reduce the power draw.
It can also be selected to only be enabled in parking mode.

There is also the option to disable the front, rear and telephoto status LED.

Does that work for any camera connected to the INT port?

I suggested this to viofo last year but looks like we won't ever get this added to older cameras

Just noticed Viofo have published the manual and it also has the similar option for the interior camera. Also has GPS off in parking mode (first added to A229 Pro in a beta firmware last year)

The option is available for every LED that's on the main unit or any connected camera.

GPS off was also implemented with the A329. I didn't mention it because of that.

I just installed the A329T a few hours ago and did a short drive to check it out.

Here are some nighttime screenshots.
The first image is the front unit, and the 2nd image is from the telephoto camera.
