V2.0 Firmware for Public Testing

Also this is for VIOFO as a suggestion. I'm using multi Plex video on 3 channel. It would be nice to have the option to use it in that format, but also be able to individually watch the video it's full format. I guess you can't have everything, but I understand that there are some Dashcams that allow you to do that. I wonder if that could be also something in the works for the future.

So turn off multiplex? Mine is off, and I can view one camera or all 3 as it's recording. I can view all 3 on the main
cam screen and also on my cell phone when connected via WiFi. When I look at the saved files, each cam has it's
own file. I prefer this simply because my phone and laptop both make viewed files look much better at full screen.
When I view all 3 together the images appear fuzzy and out-of-focus, and there is very little detail to view.

I hundred percent agree with you that each camera gets a much better view and detail in individual, but there is significant value in having a Multiplex view because you can see if there's an accident or an event how it impacted from all angles whether it's from rear front or internal camera showing the sides. It simply I believe overall gives you a better understanding in real time as to events that occurred. I realize you can't have everything, but there seems to be some dash comes out there that give you that option where you could have multi view, but also view the individual recorded cameras by themselves to give you the better details that we're talking about. That's why I was asking from the Info if that's something in the works or they're thinking about it because they seem to be under cutting edge of listening to their customers. I do appreciate them that I agree with you 100% that the individual camera footage is significantly better but there's significant value in the multi plex . I realized that there are some savvy people out there that can probably stitch the footage together, but if it's an option, then fantastic if not, then completely understand.

Im excited about the new firmware. However, I am confused about one of the features. I'm running a three channel 329s with hard wire. I'm using the dash cam in hybrid parking mode and storing the parking onto the microSD card and the footage when driving on the SSD card. The camera normally allow you to use this feature if you're storing the parking in the hybrid mode onto the microSD card.

Is there a new feature that you could utilize the hybrid parking mode that it would directly save the footage onto the SSD card instead of the microSD card. If not fine if that's something they can work on if it's possible for future updates.

The feature that I'm interested in is the backup option for the hybrid parking mode or even regular parking mode if it's being saved onto the microSD card. Are the videos from the parking mode now being automatically downloaded into the ssd from the micro Sd card. Or only if an impact is detected during the parking mode that it saves it onto the SSD storage unit if someone can explain this to me, I would be grateful.

Lastly, this has happened to my Viofo many times in the past few months. I believe what has happened. Is that because of my voltage setting being exceeded the camera shuts off during the parking mode to save the battery as it should. This is when I'm using the hybrid parking mode that's the feature that I always use. Then when I get into the car, the cameras turns on and starts recording, but then my parking mode id turned off completely. Since I have my sound off, I may not even know, but the parking mode gets disabled all together. Has this been addressed, I know that some users have coined this parking gate issue. I just want to find out that if this particular issue has been addressed with this update.
Thank you very much in advance. Also I am very encouraged that the manufacturer view for actually monitors this forum and listens and directly engages with their customers.
You can choose to back up all the files on the SD card or only back up Impact files in the settings:

The 2.0 firmware version has solved the bug that hybrid parking mode will be turned off automatically for unknown reason.
If you choose multiplex videos, then there is no way to watch each channel's video in full format.

Am I understanding correctly that V2 software will allow me to directly record onto the SD card even when Hybrid parking mode has been selected. In the current version non v2 firmware that is not possible. Thank you We

Meant to say that will the new V2 allow to record directly onto the SSD drive when Hybrid recording mode is selected? Sorry for my confusion on this issue.

I don't know how often the Viofo folks scan every page looking for questions. They are pretty responsive but maybe send up
a flare?

Type the "@" symbol immediately followed by the name of anyone you wish to hear from. A little menu will pop up
and you can click on the name you want. Then that person name will display in light blue, like so...

Minor observation - the 3CH max bitrate has gone back up to 66+27+27Mbps in FW V2.0.

In V1.2 250708 it had gone down to 54+24+24.

I don't expect this will make much difference to the video quality.

Yeah the last one I saw like that required two storage sources.. one for the original footage and a second for the multiplexed footage. Given that the A329S allows us to do MicroSD and SSD, it'd be awesome to have the dashcam save the originals to SSD and the multiplexed to MicroSD or something. πŸ™‚ That could be really cool!

How about a feature where a map and gps are included so that when doing videos it’s easy to see your general location of an area such as a street or national park.

I have now downloaded V2 firmware and the parking impact notification is working flawlessly. I also have been able to confirm on my end at least with my equipment that’s the impact protection when set for maximum settings hybrid parking mode has a significant improvement relative to its sensitivity. It now picks up small to moderate tap on my window when it did not before. It’s operating the way I had expected it when I bought it originally.

I have not been able to confirm on my end whether or not the parking gate situation is completely gone. I’m assuming it’s because they’re fully aware of it and we were told that it wa fixed. Since the update I have not encountered issued but it hasn’t been that many days so hard to Confirm at this point.

Additionally I don’t know if anyone else is having this issue but my screen always had some problems relative to Being significantly distorted to the point that it was useless however it did not appear to affect it’s a recording or videos. This was an intermittent problem. With the new upstate I have not had that distorted video screen situation.
I don’t know if that was part of the fix but it seems to solve the problem for me. I’m wondering if anyone else has had similar experience with the screen giving them significant distortion and it’s been remedied with the new firmware The functionality of recording was not an issue with the screen problem.

Thanks for everyone’s input.

Thanks for all the suggestions, V2.0 firmware just updated.
1. Fixed the parking mode resetting issue
2. Support setting different radius for GeoFencing.
3. Optimized slow card issue in AED Parking mode.
4. Daylight saving time US options changed to On, after manually enabled the time will be set +1 hour based on current time zone.
Thanks for these fixes!

I just did a quick test for the parking mode resetting issue, and it seems partially fixed. I'm noticing now that it maintains hybrid parking mode even when reinstalling the dashcam while the vehicle is parked which is good, and it no longer disables parking mode altogether, but it doesn't necessarily maintain the correct parking mode. I have both my A329S and A329T set to hybrid with event detection, but both dashcams switched to hybrid time lapse when reinstalling the dashcams.

I have checked on this with current beta firmware A329T_V2.0_251027.

In 3ch mode (Front, Tele, Rear)
The bitrate remains at 54+24+24Mbps when all cams are in 16:9 ( 4K P30+2K P30+2K P30)

It changes to 66+27+27Mbps when you set the front cam to 21:9 (4K 21:9+2K 16:9+2K 16:9)

I did not check any other resolutions, as those are the only 2 I use.

EDIT: To add, this is HDR ON all the time.

Interesting. I am using V2.0_251027, and 16:9 on all 3CH.

Looking at a few more examples, I'm seeing 66+27+27 with front camera HDR OFF, and 54+24+24 with front camera HDR ON.

Thinking about upgrading the firmware, I noticed this statement:

" then insert the card and power the camera using the original car charger."

Is that last part essential?

I have the HK6 hardwired.

@DJ70 I did mine with the HK6 connected. To be honest I had forgotten about using the car charger.
I also had to attempt to complete the FW Update several times and perhaps this was the reason?
I simply powered-down the cam by turning it off, not disconnecting any power leads.

It did finally update though. Perhaps the ability to completely remove all power, and then restore
all power, is an important part of the process. My cam didn't see the new FW the first 2-3 times I
tried it. It simply powered-up and began recording as usual. I don't know what I may have changed
to make the cam see the update. The whole process should have taken maybe 15 minutes from the
removal of the SD card, installing the FW from my laptop, re-installing the SD card, etc, etc.
It actually took me about 30-45 minutes.

I would be interested to hear if you have more immediate results by actually following this power step
instead of the way I bumbled through it. Might be worth the "trouble" to do it the right way. πŸ˜‰

You may be right about the power thing, maybe the HK6 is adversely affecting things.

My concerns about beta versions doesn't seem to be justified in this case as I haven't read any real problems with V.2.0. 🀞

If I do u/g I reckon I'll use the car charger, then report back.
