Isn't the BP100's output voltage level which is displayed on the Viofo dash camera transmitted from the HK6? The above statement would have made more sense to me if it said:

"The BP100's output voltage level will not be displayed in any of the VIOFO dash cameras that DO NOT support the voltage display from the HK6."

My brain may be off?

The 12V output power cable is capable of powering a dash camera itself with standard parking mode support. You don't need the HK4 or HK6.

If you decide to connect a HK6 to the 12V output power port on the BP100 instead of using the included 12V output power cable, of course you'll get the features of the HK6 which has it's own Bluetooth to transmit the voltage level it's being powered with to the dash camera. You would need to splice the HK6's 12V wires with the BP100's "Hardwire Cable Adapter" wires to connect the HK6 to the BP100's 12V output power port.
 
It seems like an advantage to the included 12V output power cable is it eliminates the cutoff voltage so the full output capacity of the BT100 is realized.
HK4 and HK6 have low voltage cutoffs (unless you request from Viofo a custom HK6 which has a "no cutoff" option).

Type-C output cable is standard configuration, and we will sell mini USB cable individually later.
 
I installed the VIOFO BP100 battery pack as the third dash camera battery pack in my Chevy HHR.

@rcg530 How does the BP100 decide to limit it's charging current to 6A or 11A ?
Does the MR60 Female Connector use the ACC signal to determine it's connected to the fuse block and can therefore charge at 11A Max?

The only difference between those two cables I see is: lighter cable has 2 wires, hardwiring cable has 3 wires.
It has to be that.
 
BTW: today my BT100 prompted me to update the firmware.
This is the second time it does that since I bought it.

No idea which version. AND there was no wifi/cell service where I was parked at that moment.
So not sure where from and how it pulled its firmware update.
 
Does the Viofo battery app send notifications to a bluetooth connected device (e.g. phone) if the BP-100 charge is low, or do you have to open the app to check the status and see any warnings?

There are no push notifications from the battery pack/app. You must have the app running to see the messages/popups listed in the picture.

OK, thanks for the reply. I'm considering adding a dashcam battery to my partner's car and looking into simple-to-use options.
 
Just wondering if anyone has tested it out, but since the ext XT60 port is also labels as an input, can you charge the BP100 via that port instead of the designated MR60.

Can the BP100's Hardwire Output Cable (Type-C) (4M) Module be swapped for the HK6 Module?
I am ONLY referring to the module with two connectors than can be removed from the cable, the original BP100 cable would remain installed.
I am having the BP100's cable professionally installed but want to know if I can easily swap out just the module later if I want.

The 12V input cable appears to be the same 3-pin plastic Molex connector, same terminal pin size, and the wires are arranged in the same left-to-right order.

The USB output power side has a different size/pin count. The HK6 5V output connector is a 4-pin plastic Molex connector with 4-wires and the BP100 adapter 5V output connector is a 3-pin Molex connector with 3-wires.

Bummer so that means it's not compatible.
I noticed the 4 vs 3 pin connector discrepancy earlier and asked @viofo what is the function of the 4th pin with no reply.
I wonder why the pins are so much larger on the BP100, hard to imagine it's sized due to current draw.

The fourth pin (white cable) is for serial port transmission, which can be used to transmit battery voltage to the machines that don't have Bluetooth.

Interesting, I had dismissed the possibility the extra wire was for voltage data. Mainly because it was only one signal line and therefore not differential transmission which is a bit unusual.
I also figured data transmission only worked with the side data port and not the GPS Power port
Maybe the cameras without Bluetooth are different 🤔
