Snow = change all the rules you know

Ow hold on here Dash ;) I absolutely agree on being considerate in traffic. Also in your post after the one I quoted here, I can see your gist. So my reply is will all due respect (y) But please, Do not give away your priority on a roundabout when traffic is fluent (like it was on this clip)...

Snow = change all the rules you know

... or so some drivers seem to reason... Let's just stop on the roundabout to give way to a truck. Why? err... snow?

    The last possible gap...

An accident on the Brussels Ring, two of the three lanes blocked, no police arrived yet... The van in question was queuing behind me, and as I start to merge, royally late, to get to the only free lane left... he still manages to pass me on the right to find the last possible gap to merge... Man...

    Grannies and Aldi car parks...

... a perfect recipe for confusion and danger!

    Woops... my bad!

I make mistakes as well (of course). I anticipated the last car in the queue ahead to start moving... but it didn't, which caused me to have to break a lot harder than I first estimated... the road was a bit wet, so I got scared and steered left to avoid a collision... It wasn't necessary in the...

    The finger!

I don't get flipped the finger very often.. and this time I really didn't deserve it. The guy that flipped it deserved it actually, even though he looked really sympathetic... He drove into the roadworks in the wrong (forbidden) direction, so his action really surprised me...

    The daily annoyances: Indicators!

Exactly! I know, right? Fortunately bikers in Belgium very rarely filter between lane 1 and 2... They're usually filtering near the fast lane. But still!

    The daily annoyances: Indicators!

There wasn't a gap, really. And no blinkers. Still the Ford Focus managed to merge! :censored: Then he discovered he did have indicators. Even used them. We can get on with our lives again. :)

    My first brake check.

First of all, YES. Yes he was at fault. YES. Yes you have the right to maintain your lane. But. What if you had set off a tiny bit slower, and let the plonker cut in, and do his (stupid) thing? What if you treated traffic like if it was a dynamic situation where stupid and less stupid drivers...

Oh deer... did you actually see it coming?

Cut off driver while stopping = pulled over

Apparently in the States they call what happened at 0:50 in the first clip (the black car merging into the first lane again, after having passed that silver car), being 'cut off'. If officers stopped all the people in Europe driving like that, we'd all be permanently pulled over I think...

    Very bad cut-off

To be honest, I didn't even see the guy until he cut me off @Gibson99 ... I was closely watching the traffic further ahead, on the exit itself, as it can abruptly come to a stand-still over there sometimes. It's only after reviewing the footage of the rear cam that I saw he was weaving through...

    Very bad cut-off

I was very badly cut-off on the Brussels ring yesterday. I had to severely hit the brakes to not get hit by this absolute @$$!

    Merc rear-ends Merc in Hasselt

I witnessed a rear-end collision this evening. The rear-ending driver was obviously distracted, noticed the queue too late, and attempted an emergency break. I have to admit he came to a halt quite quickly, but not before hitting the car in front first... I don't think they got hurt... maybe...

    I mean... come on?!

Lol that rotnaarrechts is a good example of those fast- and middle lane hoggers, but I can't really see if the speed was generally slowed down or not. I think you mean the (Vienna) Convention on road traffic, right? I had trouble finding relevant information in the different Treaties of Vienna...

    I mean... come on?!

Let's agree for 50% then :-) If I have to drive between 40 and 90 km/h on a ring road or motorway where you are normally allowed to go 120km/h, I consider the traffic congested. There's degrees of ~, of course.

    I mean... come on?!

They are road works signs. At the intersections coming up there's a modified road layout, that's what those signs are for. We don't have 'stay in lane' signs in Belgium.

    I mean... come on?!

Me too I am very sensitive to middle or right lane hoggers, so with the given footage I understand your remark. Unfortunately I edited the video for the actual weaving car, but like that you can't see the truck sitting in the right lane a couple of meters behind me. I wasn't going to cut in...

    I mean... come on?!

Ok, I agree, this is a minor thing, but still frustrating nonetheless. Apart from annoying everyone around him, I don't think he's accomplished anything with his driving style... (And sorry for the dark image, it was still early...)

    Serious (spectacular) traffic violation

I agree Rajagra. Me too, over the years I've been driving more and more defensively, even though I thought of myself being a defensive driver when I first started driving 20 years ago... I'm not sure if it's something you can learn during training... I've learnt to drive defensively... but...
