Dashcams Did Their Job Today (Street Guardian + Mobius)

I believe I had put epoxy on it (I was into JB weld at the time). I'd have to open it back up and double check. I won't be able to check for several days as we're going out of town tomorrow on urgent business for several days, but I'll update here once I've confirmed, and if I was able to...

Dashcams Did Their Job Today (Street Guardian + Mobius)

Hey Guys, Been a while. I'm not a big member here but I'm an early adopter of the original Street Guardian 9665GC. My wife was running this in her car today, along with a Mobius for the rear cam. My wife was rear-ended today, pretty bad. She was thrown into the car in front of her. Firstly...

Street Guardian SG9665GC is very blurry

I finally had chance to compare the focus after making the adjustment. I'm pleased with the result. Look at the shutters/attic vents/whatever near the peak of the roof on the house across the street. The first image below is from my Highlander. The second image is from the camera in my Avalon...

Street Guardian SG9665GC is very blurry

Ok, I went at it and everything worked out good. I just read your last 2 messages, but I ended up following a procedure basically exactly as you described. I'm always learning great things on the internet, and I always feel bad for not giving back. Since I had everything laid out here, I...

Street Guardian SG9665GC is very blurry

Thanks for the quick replies. Wow, you went all the way. I'm guessing it is necessary to "break" the glue that I found is covering the visible portion of the threads?

Street Guardian SG9665GC is very blurry

When you say turn the lens a bit to adjust the focus, is it clear how much to turn it? Or will I have to repeatedly make a slight turn, reassemble it, and power it up to check the focus?

Street Guardian SG9665GC is very blurry

I have 2 SG9665GC v1. While moving my cameras around to troubleshoot an audio buzz issue caused by the 3rd party power supply, I grabbed a still from each camera in the same vehicle. You can see 1 cam is still sharp, while the other has become blurry:

Settings And Timezone Resetting to Default [SOLVED]

As I mentioned in my other thread about the audio issues, I've narrowed that problem down to the USB power supply and/or the USB cable. I think it's safe to conclude this has also been causing power stability issues, leading to the camera options being reset. The camera itself has held up well...

Two Buzzing Sounds in Audio - 1st Buzzes Each Second, the 2nd is Constant [SOLVED]

Alright, so I've done multiple test scenarios and I can confirm the buzzing audio problem is from the power cable I'm using. I have 2 cars. An Avalon and a Highlander, each with an SG9665GC. In June 2018 I updated the firmware in both cams. The Avalon is my wife's. I wanted to replace the...

Settings And Timezone Resetting to Default [SOLVED]

Yes, almost 3 months ago in June I updated the firmware on both of my cams. I also got right of the integrated cigarette-lighter-to-mini-USB cable and replaced it with a dedicated USB to mini USB. I also put an Anker power supply in the cigarette lighter.

Two Buzzing Sounds in Audio - 1st Buzzes Each Second, the 2nd is Constant [SOLVED]

Ah, good idea. I'll try swapping the cams when my wife gets home. I have the GPS mounted in the far right corner or the dashboard. Also, the power cable and GPS cable are running side by side (until the GPS cable diverges to go to the dash. The only things I have changed recently are: 1) added...

Settings And Timezone Resetting to Default [SOLVED]

After my wife was almost hit by an illegal U-Turner, (clip here) I reviewed the video and discovered the settings were being reset to Default. Initially, I only noticed the time was wrong. I counted it to be ahead by 15 hours. I went into the settings and found that the GMT offset was at 10+, so...

    Near Collision With Illegal U-Turner

I started a new thread about the issues: Audio Buzzing Issue(s): here Settings & Timezone Reset: here Update: both issues seem to be related to using a 3rd party USB cable and power supply rather than the original SG power lead.

Two Buzzing Sounds in Audio - 1st Buzzes Each Second, the 2nd is Constant [SOLVED]

(Solution) After my wife was almost hit by an illegal U-Turner, (clip here) I reviewed the video and discovered some audio issues with my SG9665GC V1: There is a constant buzzing sound, and a cyclical brzzzp sound that repeats once per second in sync with the ticking of the seconds indicator...

    Near Collision With Illegal U-Turner

Interesting. I’ll have to unplug the GPS and test again. There’s a background buzz as well as the repeating blurp sound each second. Thanks!

    Near Collision With Illegal U-Turner

Yesterday this little white Honda was about to do an illegal u-turn in front of my wife’s path. Evidently he saw her last minute and braked. She swerved slightly. Unfortunately for my wife (and the Honda driver), the driver behind him was not prepared for him to cancel his turn, so they plowed...

Street Guardian SG9665GC is very blurry

Hello, I've also noticed over time that my SG9665GC cameras have gone very out of focus. I don't check my footage often (bad, I know), and I think each time I do it has become incrementally worse until it reached it's current state. I bought 2 of the original V1 back March 2015, I think, and I...

Woman crashes into car - blames other driver

What am I missing here??? There are no green arrows, only green circles. Doesn't this mean the woman that hit the cam car is at fault either way??? - If her light was red, then why was she turning? - If her light was green, she still had to WAIT... Seriously, what was there for the cop to...

    Psycho spits on my car

You DO know what "rational fear" means, don't play dumb. You are describing it in detail in your own posts. You do in fact seem "offended", as in, personally attacked. Your statements and attitude reveal it. "Close" or not, "3 feet" or not, the driver was careful and paying attention to his...

Pedestrian claims SG9665GC cammer nearly hit him, follows him into parking lot and flips his $#!%

3 feet or not, driver was careful and paying attention to his own actions; pedestrian was looking for trouble.
