2014 VicoVation Marcus-3, 1080p-60Fps, Super HD 2304 x 1296р, 3DNR, WDR, LDWS, FCWS , GPS, CPL

Here's a short video I took at the Vicovation CES booth in Las Vegas last week.

(the full 60fps .MTS file is in the share in my last post)
You'll meet Chris & Chiou. They breifly spin the the Marcus 1, 3, 5 units around. I pan back to show the dual channel rear cable & finish with more on PushCam.com (including the new app)
Apologies for not showing more of the new GUI/Menu, but I was in Gadget overload at this point walking miles around the show. :)

EDIT: Looks like my original .MTS file is dropbox streaming compatible as well.

"Price around 290usd."

I expect very good recordings and so on, no doubt it will be a high end dashcam.

The ability to fit a 52mm polarizing filter alone is worth a good couple dollars... This windshield glare is driving me nuts!!

60FPS at 1080P as well as the 2K resolution will smash the storage on any 64GB SDCARD, what is the maximum storage size?

Agree.
IMO there should be support for at least 64 Gb Cards.
These new cams and what they can do really should motivate the dashcam makers to start to think about seperating the "headunit" and cameras and offer support for SSD harddrives.
No future in supporting 128 - 256 GB SD or thumb drives, they are simply too expensive.

I fell over a German Vicovation dealer, they allso mention March availabillity. ( in Germany i assume )

http://www.vicovation.de/dashcam-vico-marcus/

If the prize in "Euroville" dont go too mutch above the 290 USD mentioned, i would love to try out the Marcus 3.

I need to figure out witch bank to rob, but thats a whole other matter

PS. i allso asked thru this site one of the UK vico dealers ( carcamdepot ) if they will get the new cams but they havent gotten back to me yet.

Vicovation have put up on youtube some footage from the marcus 1 camera, taking into account the "newness" of the hardware / FW and the youtube factor it dont look bad.

Have a look for yourself at ther youtube channel.
http://www.youtube.com/user/VicoVation/videos

I have asked them on ther YT channel to put up footage from other 2 models and, make so we can DL raw footage.

And offcourse i had to mention this site just to be on the safe side of Things :)

Looks cool :)
Would prefer it if it had OBD.
Probably this, the 5 and maybe the guardtek are the only three that are a step up from what's been around for 12+ months?

To be honest i dont expect mutch better footage compared to simmilar 2013 models, they are still using the same old cmos sensors, and image prosessing can only do so much.
We need new sensors witch need less light to make sharper night images, at a glance night images of today look good, but when you pause and look at the side of the footage you see a lot of motion blur.
I would like to be able to go down a street at night doing 50 km/h and pass parked cars, and then during playback be able to pause and read the licence plate of those parked cars.
My lukas only do good footage of plates on oncomming cars at bright daylight, as soon as the light dim a Little there is too mutch motion blur to read plates on oncomming cars.

I am hoping 60 FPS might keep the exposure times for each image faster to reduce motion blur.

Trouble with 60 fps and same sensors is that results will be to dark at night due to not enough time for proper exposure. So I think motion blur during the day will be better but not at night as the camera will probably be best set to 30fps then.

Yeah the cam will proberly trottle FPS Down as it get dark, so we will not get better night footage before some one come up with a new CMOS.

So we will have to settle for a while with current performance, and thats allright as it is by no means useless :)

Does anyone know where and when I can source a Marcus 3 for Australia? The website http://dashcamsaustralia.com.au/ and phone number just rings out every day so i am VERY tentative about purchasing from them. Is it possible to purchase from Vico themselves?

@Allan apparently picked up a Marcus 1 in Taiwan recently - he might know if the Marcus 3 was available - I note that even http://dashcamsaustralia.com.au/ doesn't actually have stock, but rather it is available as a presale item, so my guess is if you want one now it would have to be direct from Taiwan.

Thanks, this is similar to what qualitydashcams did for me with the TF2+ when it was unavailable in Australia. They sourced it from Vico and posted it to me ASAP - turn around time was a week - was awesome service.

Good to know, maybe our local Vico dealer can do the same! :)

How much will these be?
"Price around 290usd."
These are the prices as set by Vicovation. (However we will probably run some promotions on them).
Marcus 3 ($260)
Can't wait to see all the new Vico hardware I'm excited to see what all the A7 can bring as it matures in the coming years. I don't know that i would jump on a Marcus 3 right away, but the Marcus 1 is smaller and cheaper then my Vico TF2 and has GPS

Me too, not that I can justify a new camera having just bought a WF1...but I could be tempted by a Marcus 3 or 5... ;)
