70mai 4K T800 Premium Set - 3 Channel Dashcam - Dual 4K Sony Starvis 2 IMX678 - Unboxing & First Impressions Europe

To do this, turn on the timelapse, then it will record before impact, but with a frequency of 1 fps.

By the way, it makes no sense to turn off the timelapse if you leave the monitoring mode on in the parking lot on impact, since here are the values of consumption in the parking lot (for the front camera + cabin):
(1/2 channel) mA (12.6V)
Impact only: 195/195
Timelapse only: 210/230
Motion only: 210/230

Impact+timelapse: 210/230
Kick+Timelapse+Movement: 210/230

I got notified that my prior post with the images had quality issues. I uploaded it again. This should fix it.

Some more daytime screenshots:
Even the plate of the black Audi can be read without issues.

@Julian23

I was puzzled a bit on some of those images, like 15 and 17 .webp, until I realised that what was affecting the image was the reflection off the dash. 🙂

18 and 19 .webp are really nice images in quality. I saw the size of that field and thought about what a great glider field it would make. 🙂 Beautiful countryside you have there.

Timelaps ist not buffed parking mode! This dashcam does not support buffed parking mode. Just like all other 70mai dashcams. The answer is pretty simple.
While you are technically correct, the time lapse will still capture the situation before the event.
It's already corrected in the initial post.
Additionally, the motion detection will get triggered as well by movement.

You are correct, thats the reflection of the dashboard. The CPL should soon be available to take care of this.

The farmer wouldn't be happy if you did this 🤣
The area here is quite nice in spring. Everything is so colorful.

The T800 does have a feature that will show the driven routes on a map after the phone synced them with the camera. It also gives you the option to animate driven routes on a map.
For road trips this could be a nice feature

Here is a quick overview of the recorded data:

It will show the distance, average speed, max speed, time driven, and date and time

70mai published a list of recommended network carriers for their 70mai 4G Hardwire Kit (UP04/UP05) when in use with for example the T800 or X800.

These are just recommendations. Others will work fine as well.
In Germany, Vodafone works perfectly fine, even when it's not on the list.

As seen on the Omni 4K, the T800 also includes the same ADAS features along with the Road Story (RS) filter.

The ADAS system allows users to apply a “Road Story” overlay that displays the lane and distance to surrounding vehicles during playback. To activate it, simply tap the RS button in the bottom right corner of the app while viewing a clip.
To save the footage with the overlay, the video must first be downloaded, then the RS filter applied, and finally exported from within the app.

Additionally, the lane display can also be shown live on the T800’s screen during driving. I’ll try to capture this in a video.

Thanx for the details. Still comparing cameras, but the price is unbeatable. I am a bit challenged in this being a 30fps camera. Viofo does 60.

As soon as HDR is enabled, the Viofo is also 60fps.
I wouldn't make my decision based on the 60fps.

There are much more important questions you should ask yourself.
Do you want the 4G features?
Do you want 4k in the rear?

Yes, that is true, but only on 2 channel or less. 60fps is nice, but not always needed, I get better use out of a telephoto than I do with 60fps. Of course, your mileage may vary. 🙂

Here is a screenshot of the RS filter.
This overlay was activated within the app and shows the lane and distances to other vehicles.

What is your view on the accuracy of the filter? In this example the blue truck appears to be slightly closer than the car, yet the overlay suggests the car is 8m closer than the truck. Is it because you are passing the truck and the car is passing you, but there is a lag between the video and the overlay?

Your example which dashcam is it?
How do you do that? legit question. I mean how do you continue to record while having the overlay on the screen in real time? I couldn't find an option to do that.
I have created the overlay using the app no problems. I have an example on youtube.
Creating the overlay over the video to create as a stand alone file took ages. I guess it needs a powerful phone or improved software.
I'm using the iphone 8 which could also be the bottleneck.

Here is a picture of the ADAS lane being shown on the display of the T800.
SInce I was alone in the car, I wasn't able to capture a video yet. Just pictures while the car was stopped on the road.

Yes, there is some delay for it.
The car was driving 30-40kmh faster than the truck. It needs a moment to refresh.
Unlucky for the screenshot but it shows how it is.

It's a fun little feature. It's not the most accurate, it sometimes loses the lane with surface changes or shadows but overall it seems to work decently.
It even works when there is just a curb on the right. No white line needed.
I haven't measured how accurate the distance is.

The option to enable this overlay on the screen is within the ADAS menu.

I wanted to record the display of the T800 to show what it displays. Wasn't possible yet.

You can either overlay the RS filter while watching the files (will be applied real-time) or as you said they need to be rendered.
It takes a bit on my phone too.

Hi. Thanx for the reply. I am not interested in the 4G. Although 2K is good enough for the rear, I don't mind taking 4K. I am a very simple man. I am comparing footage between this and the VIOFO A329. Everyone's input helps. I will saying, the bitrate and clarity of the VIOFO A329 impresses me.....but the price!!!!!
