I've found the 3M sticker has started to come away from the screen twice in the hot sun, that's been the only heat related issue I've had.

I just tried to get the hottest temp at the camera that's possible to see how it performs.

37°C, sun shining with full power onto the dashcam, and I did what @Mtz loves. I put a sunshade to keep the interior cool but at a cost of the temperature of the camera.
I let the dashcam cook for 40 minutes, parking mode, time lapse, everything that can be turned on was enabled. 4G was also running.

The T800 does not care, it was still recording. It got so hot that I could barely touch it.
I downloaded a video to check if there was a heat related focus shift. Nothing.
Still sharp.

The T800 does officially get my heat approval.

The earlier firmware version did bump up the plate capture quite a lot. Haven't noticed any big differences since then.
From a quick comparison, the quality seems the same as in post #70.
The CPL will decrease the plate capture at night.

I see, thanks! I finally decided to buy this unit. It looks like this is the best dashcam for me with regards to price vs quality/performance. I just hope that the customer service from 70mai will be also good like from other known brands.

70mai offers really good support. I couldn’t never say anything bad about their customer support. They also sent me a new sticker because I lost both 😅

It's a good unit that ticks nearly every box.
